Back to Basics

Okay, so I’ve been out of the loop.  Doing other projects and being otherwise distracted.  Sorry, I’m not setting a good example here.

Anyhow, I’m going back to basics and starting over again like it’s a brand new deal.  I’m starting February with a new commitment to keep up with the blogging and letting you know what works for me and what does not.  Right now, nothing’s working for me.  To be perfectly honest, I’m not actually doing anything.  Well, that’s not entirely true.  Let’s dwell…

December 2013

So in December, I tried my hand at domaining.  A travesty.  Had a great concept.  Good in theory, not so hot in practice.  I picked a bunch of localized domains in a particular offline business niche.  I did massive amounts of research to try to build a contact list.  Granted, there were tons of these businesses but they’re crafty so they have obscured their emails.  Took forever just to get a handful of email contacts.  Not surprisingly, none of them responded to my initial contact.  The only thing worse than not having a plan is thinking you have a plan only to let reality drop the bomb on you.

At the same time, I was running video promotions of tools on my Christmas niche sites.  The result? No traffic equals no sales. No surprise.

Oh well, last year is over.  Time for a do-over.

January 2014

Deducing that my potential clients had been off on holiday break, I came back strong in early January with a phone campaign.  Epic fail.  Domains are now parked and waiting for a more business-savvy customer at Sedo. Do you want a discount on some very valuable offline domains?  Are you up to the challenge?  Contact me.

On a more positive note, I made and posted my first actual product on JVZoo! Yea!!!

Fun Windows Organization Tips & Tricks

So, where did this one come from?  Well, I’m a member of Dennis Becker’s IM Inside Track group on Facebook.  If you’ve never heard of Dennis Becker, he’s a seasoned marketer who cracked the code many moons ago.  He published a book called 5 Bucks A Day.  In that classic book, he determined that he could spend a week building and promoting quick niche sites that had the potential to bring in a couple of dollars a day with AdSense.  Mind you, this is quite a few years ago before the Google slaps made mini-sites largely no longer viable.  Just the same, he found something that worked and worked it until it made him enough money to replace his primary income.  Just a little? No, he now hosts a blog and forum called Earn 1K A Day.  There’s a mind-blowing thought.  $1,000 a day.  How do you get from $5 a day to $1,000 a day? Well, check out this webinar to see how Dennis recommends you go about it.

In any case, Dennis asks a thought-provoking question every day.  One day, he asked how do you keep track of all the stuff you download?  So I told them.  They were all pretty charged up about it, so I made a video course out of it and posted it on JVZoo.  Can you imagine?  An information product, by me.  Original.  No PLR.  No spinning.  No rehashing, recycling or reinterpreting.  Amazing!  I didn’t know I had it in me.  What’s more, I’ve got another on the way.

Well, I knew I’d get in a groove sooner or later. Better sooner than later, but better late than never.

    1. Hey, Soundcloud, thanks for the compliment. I am using a theme I paid to have created specially for this site. There are lots of free ones to pick from as well as sites that provide excellent paid options.

      To your success,
      Rob
