In Like A Lion

It’s been said that March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. This year it’s more true than usual. Today, we’re expecting an absolutely roaring Nor’easter to tear up the region for the weekend while April 1st happens to be Easter Sunday. The Farmers’ Almanac has some other old chestnuts associated with March listed here.

The anticipated storm has led to a bit of preparation on our part. My son has kindly secured the yard furniture with some rope and scout knots. It’s a bit of a bummer to have this storm wailing in for the weekend because the swale in the front yard and driveway have just about dried up for once. Oh well, we need to replenish the groundwater that’s being trucked out in alarming proportions. Hopefully, the township will figure out a way to curtail that activity. I’ve added this tag to my blog to cover my efforts to side-step the calendar, the clock or whatever other chronometer might be used to make me feel like a crusty old geezer. Since Spring is right around the corner, I can soon get back to my usual backyard workout routine.

I also stated among my New Year’s resolutions, a desire to master the Tornado Kick and some form of a Scorpion Kick. Needless to say, it won’t be this version of the Scorpion Kick ↘

While I’m at it, I need to take steps to improve my diet. Apparently, my cholesterol is a bit high so I’ll need to adjust eating habits to get that back down where it belongs.

Along with the theme of coming in like a lion, my son tagged me on Facebook with a link to this article. I think you’ll find it interesting.

That’s where things stand this morning. Hopefully, the storm won’t knock out our electricity or anything. If we’ve gotta hunker down, at least we should be able to binge a bit of Netflix while the storm is howling outside.
