Nothing like a slam-bang thunderstorm to set things aright

Well, in my little corner of Pennsylvania we’ve been having a wicked bit of summer heat lately.  Funny how a little thing like a lot of heat will totally suck every drop of energy out of you.  My recent birthday weekend was spent basically laying around like a lizard sweating my guts out.  Lovely picture, no?  Here’s a scene from one of my favorite movies talking about the conditions we’ve been experiencing lately:

WELCOME TO ROB KNOWLAN.COM!

You may not have realized it from my previous posts because I hardly realized it myself.  Duh!  Name a site after yourself and then don’t put anything about yourself on it.  There’s a daft newbie for you.  Right-o, lesson learned.  More me, less random markety stuff that I’m not yet qualified to teach.

As with most things involving me, there’s an interesting wrinkle (Here now, no cracks about my age!) in what I said just now.  So, I’ve been at this a fairly short while compared to some of my esteemed colleagues and I’ve done and largely failed to do any number of critical things that will really get the ball rolling.  Lots of reasons for that, any number of which you could probably list in regard to your own situation.  It’s a common situation and we find our way through the maze as best we can.  Pardon the tiny detour there, but my point is that I discovered something about myself that I didn’t know until a friend of mine (thanks, Bill) said it in a poetic turn of phrase.

Perhaps you’ve heard of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which is an interesting way of categorizing the various personality types using a tabular collection of opposing attributes.  The opposing pairs are Introvert/Extrovert, Intuitive/Sensing, Thinking/Feeling, Perceiving/Judging.  There are some short, do it yourself quizzes that you can take, but the full psychological battery is amazingly specific and insightful.  As it turns out, my profile is INTP (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving) which is found in 3.3% of the population overall.  As such, I’m a bit of a rare bird.

Coming back to my friend, Bill; he named me Oracle and Oracle I am.  I have discovered a unique facility for answering questions.  It goes into the whole INTP thing, heavy on the N.  Go ahead, ask a question and voom!  Magic.  So, even though I haven’t the vast experience of many a guru; feel free to ask me what you will.  I will do my best to set you straight.  One way or another, you will find your inquiry worth the asking.

Finally, the storm clouds have parted and left the world washed clean in their wake.  You find me picking myself up and starting over again.

My name is Rob Knowlan and I’m here to help.
