Valentine’s Day

Well, it’s Valentine’s Day 2014 and I’m tired.

Why are you tired, Rob?

Thank you for asking.  I’m tired because we got some more snow.  I had to shovel so my wife and son could go to work this morning.  No biggie.  Just a few inches to clean up the parking space and sidewalks.  Well, once you get started on something it has a way of snowballing (no pun intended).  So, we saw my neighbor’s relatives shoveling.  We decided to lend a hand to make the work go more quickly.  A few hours later her parking spaces were clear and I’m worn out and sweaty.

Oh, that’s a lovely mental image, Rob.  Thanks for sharing.  TMI!

Okay, bypass the visual if you will.  I decided to test a theory and got the best news I’ve had in years.  Musing that our exertions had earned us some weight loss, I jumped on the scale after a nice hot soaking bath (again, bypass the visual).  Boom goes the dynamite!  I have gotten back on the scale.

Rob, what the heck do you mean by that?

Well, my bathroom scale only goes up to 270 pounds.  For years, when I would step on the scale it would whiz right past 270 and around past the zero.  Not anymore.  I have finally lost enough of my sedentary office job weight to get back within the normal scope of my bathroom scale. Yea!

It’s been a long snowy Winter, but not for naught.  I am that much the better for my exertions.  I’m lighter, leaner and getting more productive all the time.  So, here we go with my point about things snowballing.

I have created my first paid product and brought it to market.  Cool.  But do you know what that involves?  There are decisions to be made regarding pricing, graphics, copy writing, affiliate percentages…  These are decisions I should have been making and acting on this time last year or earlier.  Well, better late than never!  As with the shoveling, action leads to action.  Consistent action leads to unexpected gains.  My neighbor’s ice and snow is gone.  My products are live.  My affiliate count is growing.  My skills are growing.  Life is good.

That’s a great way to be for Valentine’s Day.  That’s a great way to be every day.

Here endeth the lesson.
