Summerlike

Summerlike

We’ve crossed the unofficial threshold of Summer but the actual solstice isn’t until the 21st. Either way, it’s feeling rather summerlike to me.

More’s the pity. I can’t really tolerate temperatures over 55°F very well.

Breathing

I got through the latest round of appointments and it seems that I spend a lot of time not breathing in my sleep. Naturally, this is problematic.

The sleep study is conducted in two phases.

  • First, they get a baseline of how you are actually sleeping. They attach quite a few wires to your head, neck and legs and put you to bed. The air sensor that’s poised in your nostrils and in front of your mouth determines your breathing. Apparently, I do precious little breathing while I’m asleep which explains why I’m always so tired and groggy and unable to concentrate.
  • Second, they fit you with a sample mask. The wires are there again but instead of the air sensor, you’ve got a mask to force air into you. Okay, I did sleep better but the air pressure involved in forcing your airways open is something that will take getting used to.

I should be receiving a visit from the CPAP supply company representative in the coming week. I’m not sure what the options are but the one I had on for the second phase of the sleep study was less than optimal.

I also got to see the orthopedic specialist. Unfortunately, even with the swelling and the burning sensation around my ankle, he wasn’t able to pinpoint a reason for the symptoms. He suggested more activity to see if it either resolves the symptoms or makes them worse enough to base a diagnosis on. I’ll be seeing him again in three weeks to see how it turns out.

As for the costochondritis, it just drags on. From what I’ve heard, it takes a really, really, really long time to get done. Grrr…

End Of The World?

Maybe for the scheming Democrats but for the rest of us, it’s just the beginning of the summer season.

There’s a lot to look forward to:

  • Lots of patriotic holidays
  • Fresh corn on the cob
  • Swimming
  • Scout Camp (for my son, not me)
  • Watermelon
  • Air Conditioning
  • Long sunny days
  • More shows on Netflix

Unfortunately, there’s a segment of our society that can’t simply enjoy life’s basic pleasures. Pessimists are their own worst enemies. Regrettably, they’re working really hard to be our worst enemies as well.

We’re in the midst of a Civil Cold War at this point. The loony left is trying oh-so-hard to push us clear into a second Civil War and they don’t even realize they’re doing it.

Fortunately, as an optimist, I can see that most (if not all) problems have fairly simple solutions. Part of the problem is that those who are causing the problems are doing so with the intention of reshaping our society. Our society does not need to be reshaped. What we really need is for our elected officials to actually abide by their oaths of office and the structure of the government as described in the US Constitution.

There’s a problem on the Politically Correct Left. They claim a moral high ground that they do not actually hold. Piece by piece, they are attempting to destroy the very society that allows them to live in comfort.

Idiots!

Fortunately, their despicable games are being thwarted by the current President of the United States of America. He’s an optimist. He’s a creator. He’s a problem solver.

Stay tuned. Things are getting better in spite of the vitriol and underhanded, diabolical social engineering.

Mind Pictures

Words are but pictures of our thoughts. ~John Dryden

Unfortunately, since my thoughts are few, my words are correspondingly minimal. I did complete the first draft of Chapter 9 but I think there’s too much talking and not enough doing for a superhero book. We’ll see if I can get this meandering tale back on track after I’ve had a decent night’s sleep.

I hope you are enjoying the “summer” weather. I’m not. I enjoy summertime but only insofar as it leads to autumn.
