So, the forecast is still in the 80s and high 70s, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start indulging in some one-dish favorites again.
Haluski is just egg noodles and cabbage, really basic.
Cabbage rolls (🎼 and coffee 🪗 mm-mm good 🎵) are fully appropriate to the moment and heart-warmingly delicious.
Whether you are wringing every last bit of joy out of the waning 🌻 season or leaning into the 🍂almost autumn🍂 vibe (like me), nobody wants to waste a lovely afternoon slaving over a complicated dinner when you can set and forget in a crockpot or casserole dish.
As much as that may horrify my son, one-dish dinners are your friend!
Ain’t nobody got time for playing chef when there’s a lovely evening to enjoy eating what you can just stick in the oven and walk away from.

What’s great is when these videos include local favorites such as haluski, halupki, paprikas, etc.
These dishes are so marvelous, the Schmenges even wrote a polka for them.

A good casserole is the kind of thing that leads to a cozy evening together holding hands or engaging in our separate projects.
Sadly, I’m not feeling the latest iterations of some of our favorites.
Reacher? I can’t get there this time.
Lanterns? Could care less.
I don’t really feel like watching anything these days but the news and random topical videos (like the cooking vids above).
I can’t even say why, but I just can’t be bothered to give half a damn about these shows right now.
So, they’ll wait, perhaps indefinitely.
What I am interested in is my Sentinels Chronicle and One Little Thing 💍.
Now that I have finally got September and October all set up on Christmas All The Time, I can put my writer’s cap back on and get some story action going.
I’m not sure what Niki and Dennis are going to get up to in this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance, but it’s going to be more fun and less stressful having a headstart on it.
