A Time For Reflection

At the cusp of the holidays, a parting glance at the colossal mess this year has been is warranted.

Give Thanks

On Thanksgiving I will stop to give thanks that my family is safe and healthy, especially because I realize that, following the tragedies of this year, it is all too real a possibility that they might not have been. ~Bobby Jindal

It’s right there in the name: Thanksgiving. It’s a time to give thanks, so let’s do.

I am thankful to still be alive.

I am thankful that none of my family have suffered extremely from the pandemic either in health or wealth.

Even so, it’s been a trying year in many ways. It has the potential to get a lot worse before it gets better.

I’m praying we’re spared the worst of it but grateful that we’re in a position to weather the insanity in relative safety.

Socialism Fails Every Time It’s Tried. Please, Stop Trying…

SOCIALISM FAIL … Thanksgiving: A Capitalism Success Story (Rush Limbaugh)

If I could have one Christmas wish, it would be for the election not to be stolen.

The “prevailing wisdom” is for us just to sweep all of the irregularities and outright criminal behavior under the rug and kick the can down the road a bit. We can deal with that later.

Well, no. Not really.

Kicking the can on tremendously important issues has only led to problems in the past. We need to stop. Right here, right now. We need to deal with the insane corruption right this minute before the very fabric of our society comes unraveled.

Part of the problem is that one side of the argument is to do exactly that. “Fundamentally transforming the country” was the stated goal of the previous administration.

The 2016 election was a social referendum on whether that should continue or whether it should stop. The election of the current president indicated that we wanted that to stop. That decision has resulted in a phenomenal economy and huge strides toward peace in the Middle East.

I am among the millions who think that we should continue pursuing peace and prosperity. I am vehemently opposed to those who are determined to pursue chaos, squalor and tyrannical dictatorship.

If we allow this election to be brazenly stolen by those who wish to end our republic as it was founded and institute some form of socialism in its place, we deserve the living hell that comes of it.

I do not wish to be part of that kind of world. So, I am praying fervently for the many, many cases to be heard and processed with due consideration. The zeitgeist is to simply accept the theft of an election and hope for a better result next time around.

Nope.

It’s time to stand and fight. The consequences are entirely too dire to just let it slide.

Life Goes On

In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on. ~Robert Frost

One hopes for a particular outcome and one’s hopes are, as often as not, simply dashed on the rocks.

Elections have consequences and so do other sorts of decisions.

A decision has been made and there are the results that come with it.

Just the same, it takes away a bit of the distraction from getting my work done.

I can get back to creating and, when the time is right, go full time with my publishing company and there will be no regrets of any kind.

Onward to the holiday season. I intend to be obnoxiously festive for the rest of the year…
