Beautiful Morning

As much as I don’t really enjoy summertime, it does provide some rather beautiful mornings.

It’s your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day

The Rascals may want to go outside, but that’s not how I enjoy my mornings. I’m more of a late sleeper whether I’m working nights or not. I just don’t get off on getting up early. That doesn’t thrill me.

Even when you’ve got a great day starting like the one I’m facing today, I have absolutely no qualms about sleeping right on until the afternoon. If I had my druthers, I’d probably never see another morning for a month of Sundays. It just doesn’t thrill me.

Give me the ease of afternoons, the hustle of evenings and the solemn stillness of a rich, dark night. That’s just how I roll.

Good weather or bad, I’d be perfectly happy to stay home and scratch away on my notepad. The novel is actually flowing for me now. The more time I have to put pencil to paper, the happier I’ll be.

Everybody’s Working For The Weekend

Well, I may be off all weekend but my beloved wife and kids are in and out the whole time. Oh well, next month is my time for weekend work. For now, it’s either naptime or storytime or somewhere in between.

Attitude of Gratitude

When you arise in the morning, think of what a privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love. ~Marcus Aurelius

Loathe though I am to endure the morning in most cases, a genuinely calm, gentle morning can actually be the perfect opportunity to reflect on one’s state of being and set some plans in motion. That sounds a bit too ambitious for me, though. I think I’ll probably just go back to bed after I’ve written a bit more of my story.

I hope you’re having a splendid morning today. Be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below.
