Our anniversary didn’t go quite as planned but it gave us a place to grow from.
We will also know to call ahead and put our name in at the restaurant so we don’t have to worry about whether or not we’ll be waiting an hour to get into the Cracker Barrel. Who knew?
There was a fair amount of mutual misunderstanding because we’ve been running on parallel tracks without much opportunity to get back together and touch base.
We’re making a conscious effort to fix that. It sucked and we don’t want that happening again.

While I haven’t been writing as much as I’d like to, I have been listening to the advice of those who have.
Like Margaret Atwood, I am now older. Unlike her, I wasn’t in any particular hurry to be.
Like Marian Keyes, I don’t have any particular certification or pedigree in writing. My privilege to opine comes from having done so and published a few works. Unlike Marian, I don’t pronounce the F-bomb as fekk unless I’m writing dialogue for Mary Christmas.

My own situation is currently being driven by the fact that so many of my day job’s assigned tasks tend to trigger my obsessive tendencies. I wind up putting all of my dwindling mental energy into those.
Work/Life Balance continues to be an issue.
I did, however, finally open a business bank account for Nerdsylvania Publishing LLC. I even have the domain. Eventually, I’ll get the site set up so I can link to that as well.
Tomorrow, I return to the doctor to see how I’m doing with my new situation. Hopefully, between the medication and drastic change in diet, things will look a bit less grim than last time I saw him.
The biggest problems I’m having in association with the new illness is the brain fog and the diminished eyesight. These are apparently known symptoms and not necessarily reversible. They can, presumably, be mitigated. I guess the good doctor will be able to tell me what to do about all of that.
I am committed to the properties I’ve mentioned, so I need to figure a way to have enough mental energy left to get the writing in.
As it stands, I’m completely wiped out after a day of work and I just can’t afford further delay. Hopefully, the doctor will have some strategies for me to make this happen.
