Icky August
π₯ So, I made the mistake of walking down for the mail yesterday. π Won’t be doing that again soon… π₯
Last Messenger Of Misery
August, the summer’s last messenger of misery, is a hollow actor. ~Henry Rollins
Thing is, the mailbox is a quarter mile away.Β In πSummerπ₯ conditions, that’s definitely a no-no for me.
I did get to appreciate how spoiled I’ve been, staying in my climate-controlled home office all this time.
I’m quite thankful for my lovely little cottage and the perfunctory AC that keeps it mostly pleasant.

I’m also thankful that they decided to keep Charlie Cox as Daredevil. The guy really has a lock on the character.
I love the Netflix series, so I’m glad they brought it into the Marvel collection on Disney+.
Rumor has it that a number of the core character actors will keep their roles. No telling when some of them will wind up returning to the MCU in their respective roles, but it will be cool when they do.
If it works, don’t fix it.
Plots & Arcs
I like books that have razor-sharp plotting that snaps and moves along. It’s not about the main character being different at the end. I don’t want my main character to be different in the end. I still want him committed to his ideas, to be steadfast, true and loyal. ~Brad Thor
And that’s what we call a flat arc. It’s perfectly legitimate to have flat arc characters if your story is more about what the character is doing.
It works for Sherlock Holmes, James Bond and other characters who have already gone through their arcs, became who they are and simply do what they do. Sleuths and action heroes typically don’t have or need a development arc.
We’re going to be seeing a bit of each in The Sentinels: New Blood. Tim and Matt don’t really need their own arcs. They’ve already been there and done that in their own hero careers. Mary and Tanda will have their own arcs. Tanda’s is sort of an origin story and Mary’s is a redemption arc.
Just a quickie today. I’m entirely too hot and tired to dig in and write a giant post today. I’m saving my energy for Christmas All The Time and Nerdsylvania Publishing tasks.
