Mitten Tree Day 2025
In a season of giving, we find ourselves at Mitten Tree Day. Little acts of kindness bring warmth to a chilly month.

We canβt help everyone, but everyone can help someone. ~Ronald Reagan
We all have a duty to help others when we can.
It doesn’t have to be anything dramatic.
Sharing a smile can make someone’s day.
Giving directions to someone who’s lost or recommending a place to eat.
That’s the heart of Mitten Tree Day:Β Giving a little bit of yourself to make someone else’s life easier.
It’s called being a mensch.
Just be kind. It’s not hard.

The Mitten Tree
Even if you don’t hang them on a tree for public display, it’s awesome to donate mittens and hats for kids or even grownups in need.
Being able to share new or gently used cold weather supplies is not a heavy lift for most of us.
Sharing is caring, as is abundantly demonstrated by Jan Brett’s charming presentation of a Ukrainian folktale.
I really love Jan Brett books because the stories are so whimsical and the artwork is quite detailed and evocative.
If you watch the video, you can notice the little side panels that reinforce the events of the story.
It’s such a marvelous little storybook and the idea of a bunch of woodland animals taking shelter in a mitten knitted by the boy’s grandmother is comical.

π Sunshine π
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. ~J.M. Barrie
The nice thing about sharing a smile is that you get one whether they return it or not.
It’s uplifting to give something of yourself to others.
That’s part of the reason I love writing my Holiday Season Serial Romances.
Certainly, I’m compelled to write and get these kooky stories out of my head, but the idea that people might also enjoy reading them just makes it that much more pleasurable.
π‘ππ Goodness & Lights πππ‘ is coming along.
I’ve got another nice long weekend to get them staged for your reading pleasure.
God willing, I’ll even have some time to write some more and finish the thing before the deadline looms near.
I’ve also been working on some developmental material for Tales Of Olde Auringia in my spare time. {ha ha, what’s that?}
No, I haven’t forgotten about The Sentinels.
Since Holiday Season Serial Romances take place in the Sentinelsverse, I consider it part of the overall property.
The cool thing about the Christmas stories is that they tend to lead to unexpected lore dumps.
Conversation between characters tend to reveal details going back to the Core13.
What’s the Core13?
The primary series is intended to be 13 books, but book 1 is already huge. It may be necessary to split up the 13 segments. We’ll see.
For now, it’s Gary, Abby, Teddy and Matt’s turn to entertain everyone.
Hopefully, people are enjoying it.
It’s not every day you get a Hallmark holiday RomCom with a gigantic bomb π£ in the middle.
That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for the π Dewey Decimal System…
