I hope you enjoyed your πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Labor Day Weekend. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Mine capped off with a couple of doctors’ appointments and lots of being driven around by Miss Daisy Kelly.

Yeah, I’m Old. πŸ‘΄πŸΌ Whaddya Want?

My eyesight is not nearly as good. My hearing is probably going away. My memory is slipping too. But I’m still around. ~John Wooden

So, the trip to the Diabetic Dietician was well worth the day’s travel. Grace is very nice and we’ve got more to look forward to.

Today’s trip to the pre-op eye measuring was rather less pleasant.

Don’t get me wrong. The staff were great and the facility was in good order.

The problem is that I have a Room 101-level horror of anything getting anywhere near my eyes.

I can’t stand the gust of air thing. I could never even think about contact lenses. Just nothing whatsoever anywhere near my eyes, ever.

What is a Cataract?

And now I’ve got to worry about holding my eyes open long enough to have them remove a bunch of stuff and replace it with an artificial lens?

Blech!

I’m likely to lose my friggin’ mind.

They said they’d be giving me some kind of loopy drugs to get me relaxed, but I don’t see how that’s going to help with the existential horror I experience over anything getting near my eyes.

Bad Moon Rising Lyrics

What Others Do Not See

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before. ~Edgar Allan Poe

I see the dark underworld of Empire City being stirred up by The Sentinels from above and The Conclave from below.

I see the primeval forests and mountains of Auringia stirring with goblins and darker things.

I see the Far-Flung Reaches of space teeming with civilizations, commerce, crime and war.

I see holiday cheer turn to romantic happy ever afters with just a dash of superhero mayhem.

Those are my genres and I’m sticking to them. That is how I see the future of Nerdsylvania Publishing LLC.

Beyond that, who knows?

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others. ~Jonathan Swift

That’s all for today. My eyes are still burning and I just want to go to bed. Hope you’re having a better week than me.
