Nice Day
Even though I’m primarily a pluviophile, I have to say that today was about as nice as a summer day can get.
Productivity
I was chauffeuring Dorothy today and it was certainly better than yesterday. I do prefer a drizzly, overcast day. I do not prefer driving around in a hurricane.
After I got back, I was able to attend to a number of outstanding chores and conduct a job interview. That’s proceeding apace. Hopefully, it pans out. Indications are positive at this point.
I was hoping that screwing the porch step would have gone more easily but I wound up hurting myself and stripping the heads of several screws. 😠 Will have to get a couple more to finish the job.
I even managed to prepare dinner before I went to pick up Dorothy from Empire Beauty School.
I’m keeping this short because I still have to take Allan to karate.
Self-Editing

How To Edit Your Novel (YouTube Playlist – Heart Breathings)
So, here’s a great series on how to do some prep work on editing your own novel. This may be a necessary evil for beginning authors with no budget for professional editing or it could simply serve as a way of cutting down on iterations with the editor you hire.
My editor (whoever that winds up being) is probably going to dislike working with me because I stridently and vehemently oppose the use of the Oxford Comma.
I’m also simulating an accent in text for a couple of characters. The Grammarly editor doesn’t appreciate those non-conventional uses, so I imagine a professional editor will balk at them as well.
Timey-⏰-Wimey Stuff
A great artist is always before his time or behind it. ~George Edward Moore
I was born two weeks late and I’ve been trying to catch up ever since.
I’m not a fan of timelines in general. Things usually get in the way. No matter how dedicated you are to accomplishing something in a certain timeframe, complications always arise.
Frankly, I was hoping to be done my first novel in the Sentinels series by now but I’m not. Pantsing didn’t get me there. Plotting has got my wheels spinning.
Nevertheless, I will break through and start making some progress. After a nice day like today, it’s inevitable.
That’s all for today. I still have to eat supper before we go to karate. I hope you’re enjoying your post-hurricane sunshine.
