31 Years And A Day

Yesterday was our 31st Anniversary. Kelly and I got to go out to dinner and enjoy some BritBox afterwards.

Happy Coincidence

When I pray, coincidences happen, and when I don’t, they don’t. ~William Temple

Kelly and I don’t go out that often, so dinner out is actually a treat for us.

It’s easy to get distracted by the daily do. Getting away and having dinner someplace other than home gave us a chance to focus on each other and just have some fun for a moment.

We were looking forward to the latest episode of The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, but it wasn’t going to be on until 10.

That was a bit too long for both of us.

I slept through most of The Gil Mayo Mysteries that she watched last night in hopes of waking up for the next Skinwalker Ranch episode.

🎲 No dice.🎲

We were both too bushed to be bothered. Gave us something to look forward to today.

So, good news, Kelly and I will be plonking ourselves down tonight after dinner to enjoy some quality couch time together again.

If you wonder how to stay married for 31 years, it’s having common goals, common interests, a comfy couch, a comfier bed and a shaggy little dog-beast. That’s the secret.

Hits of ’92

150 Hit Songs of 1992

1992 seems like a whole other world at this point. We’ve veered so far into 🤡🌎 and it seems to be growing more surreal by the day.

Yes, I have an intellectually taxing job. I have to switch quickly between several complex projects to perform widely varying tasks. It wears me out.

Watching the world change is one thing. Change is inevitable and often good, but not always. The difference is often dependent on who’s steering the ship.

When the change is organic and decentralized, the direction is largely good. When the change is being directed by a micro-minority of control freaks, the direction is rarely good.

Unfortunately, a lot of what has been happening in the last half century falls into the latter category.

Basically, a lot of what is good has occurred in spite of the control freaks rather than because of them.

People trying to mind their own business and make a better mouse trap typically make the world better.

Where are those people? They’re under the thumb of the control freaks who are working overtime to wreck the world in order to turn it into their own perverse view of how things should be.

Logically, the pendulum can only swing so far to the left. I’m not sure when it’s going to reach its apogee, but it can’t be too much longer now.

Things can literally only be so ridiculous before reality slaps us all in the face.

Personally, I’d rather have some group of rational people steer things back toward the middle, but I don’t think those people exist anymore.

Even if they do, they’ve been canceled and we won’t be able to hear them until after the 💩 hits the fan.

I’m still tired, so I’ll let Mell Pitcher say something profound on this topic for me instead.

STOP trying to WRITE an ORIGINAL STORY!

That’s it for today. Hope you’re having a lovely life. I certainly am, because of Kelly.
