National Flag Day 2025
Today is National Flag Day and the birthday of the US Army and the birthday of POTUS47. Thank goodness it’s Saturday because there’s a lot of celebrating to do here.
Stars & Stripes
Let it be borne on the flag under which we rally in every exigency, that we have one country, one constitution, one destiny. ~Daniel Webster
On June 14th, 1777, the 2nd Continental Congress adopted the flag in its original design.
The design was thirteen red and white stripes, representing the original Thirteen Colonies and a blue canton with white stars.
The field of stars has expanded to our current constellation of fifty, from 1777 to 1959, when Alaska and Hawaii became our 49th and 50th states.
I appreciate the juxtaposition of history with the current state of the country in the design of our flag.
Who knows? We may soon be adding some stars.
If any or all of the Midwest Canadian provinces actually secede and join the USA, we may be looking at a new constellation in a few years.
Of course, that would depend on us remaining a country worth joining.
The last administration made a serious mess of things.
The current one is doing their best to not only set it straight but also protect it from future misfeasance and malfeasance.
Hopefully, that comes to fruition.
Birthday Of Our Flag
What Is Flag Day?
While the flag was adopted in 1777, the US Army was established in 1775.
This makes today the Semiquincentennial of our national army.
As our current president has noted, this is an excellent time for a humdinger of a military parade.
The confluence of the Army’s birthday, the flag’s birthday and his own all falling on a sunny 🌞 pseudo–summer 🔥 Saturday seems ideal.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of discontent in the country at this point.
So, hopefully, they’ll be able to keep the nonsense from spoiling the parade.
Even if you don’t like POTUS47, there’s still the Army and our flag.
If you don’t like any of them, you really ought to find somewhere else to live where you’d be happier.
I can’t imagine where that would be, but there’s no need for you to stay here and spoil it for the rest of us.

Values & Liberties
The flag represents all the values and the liberties Americans have and enjoy everyday. ~Bill Shuster
While the original adoption of the flag in 1777 didn’t assign values to the colors, the approval of the Great Seal of the United States did.
Red is associated with hardiness and valor.
White is associated with purity and innocence.
Blue is associated with unity, loyalty and rule of law.
I think that if this was taught in schools instead of socialism and the sexual spectrum, we wouldn’t have so many malcontents.
Granted, you can’t stop people from being insipid.
Even so, I’d rather have dumb patriotic people than dumb people who think they’re going to get something for nothing.
Scoff if you will, but I’d rather have more ‘Murica and less masked dickheads setting stuff on fire because some billionaire is funding their useful idiocy.
Jus’ sayin’…
That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for a splurge…
