Mum’s The Word

We’re enjoying another 🍃almost autumn🍂 weekend and it’s just about the time when everyone’s porches and front gardens start showing a lovely thick bouquet of hearty seasonal mums. As we gently transition from my least favorite season into my favorite season, there’s no better time to smell the flowers and soak in the beauty that surrounds us…

World’s Best Mum

And speaking of beauty, I’m genuinely blessed to have an absolute miracle as my wife.

She is so beautiful inside and out that I can hardly believe how fully blessed I am to have her in my life.

Her ceaseless labor as a mother of adults constantly amazes me.

Through the miracle of 21st Century communications, she is able to maintain daily, even hourly contact with our fully grown crop of munchkins.

Is there anything in this world more beautiful than a mom being a mom? I don’t think so.

4 Quick Tips for Perfect Garden Mums 🌸 | Keep Them Blooming All Fall!

Nothing is quite the harbinger of 🍂autumn🍂 like a big colorful pot of mums on the front porch stairs.

They’re like the world’s coziest fireworks display.

For me, they’re a luscious batch of autumn leaking into the waning days of summer .

The warm colors of potted chrysanthemums are visual Pumpkin 🎃 Spice to me and I’m totally here for it.

Okay, that just reminded me of Pumpkin 🎃 Spice 🥤 Lattes which makes me think of Kelly in some cozy fall attire, puttering around outside and tending to her mums.

I love a good haiku as much as the next guy, but I’m into prose as my primary medium.

It’s not that I haven’t done my fair share of silly haikus for the sake of doing them.

Here’s one for you now:

I’ll celebrate the
upcoming cozy season
with my wife, Kelly.

But that’s just me revisiting something from school.

I’m not steeped in the culture that exemplified the meaning and intent of haiku poetry.

There’s more to it than 5-7-5.

The form achieves maximum feeling with minimalist language.

Me? I work in prose where I can use exactly however many words are needed.

Some points require a succinct approach.

Some benefit from a broad mosaic of expression.

The free mixture of detail and restraint results in a work of art that I hope some people find pleasing or at least engaging.

That has always been the aim of art.

That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for 🦅🦅🦅
