Almost Dorothursday!

I know it’s not my usual format to put text before the H1, but this is a special occasion. It’s not every day that Dorothy has a birthday. I mean, that would get kind of tedious and more than a little expensive.

Unless you’re personally acquainted with her, you probably didn’t know that tomorrow is Dorothy’s birthday.

Nobody could blame you. It’s not a national holiday or anything.

It’s just a chance to celebrate the shining light that is my younger daughter.

Sure, she’s at the age where she can be a bit of a nuisance, but we can give her some slack for her birthday’s sake.

As for the topic of a little knowledge in an ocean of nonknowledge, I find myself out to sea lately.

I know some of the nitty-gritty details of the system I work on, but I’m still pretty much in the dark on the big picture.

Fortunately, I have been provided with a full educational library of what anyone needs to know about this software.

What I haven’t been provided with is a moment’s peace to sit down and watch any of them.

Just damn…

I am busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest. I seriously can’t catch up on anything.

It’s maddening, but I need to slog through it to find the other side.

As I’ve said before, a lot of what I do actually has a “done” state. When it’s done, it’s done.

But only if you have the time to do it.

Nevertheless…

This is currently her favorite band. Not really my cup of tea, but not horrible music. I’ve heard much worse.

Dorothy is a delightful person when she’s not being an overgrown teenager.

She’s doing well working over at the BMCR and chilling with Mrs. Fletcher on her days off.

She likes mystery shows and books of all kinds, leaning toward the British series. I mean, who doesn’t like Agatha Christie stories? Right?

So, tomorrow is her special day and I hope you’ll extend a little love in her direction if you’re so inclined.

That was the motto of the USAF when I joined back in 1985 and it’s still an inspirational notion to this day.

Even so, I rarely do.

I do have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, metaphorically speaking.

I suppose that’s a kind of aiming high, but it’s more of a kind of lacking focus.

I want to do a lot of things, but it scatters my resources trying to chase all the squirrels and shiny objects in life.

I’ve been trying to be a bit more mindful, deliberate and goal-oriented lately.

Then life gets in the way.

So, I haven’t gotten back to The Sentinels and I still don’t have a solid idea about this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance, but at least I finally picked the topics for July and August’s posts on Christmas All The Time.
