Christmastime 2020 Is Here

Christmas time is here. Happiness and cheer. Fun for all that children call. Their favorite time of the year…

You Can Only Do What You Can Do

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. ~Theodore Roosevelt

The waning days of the year are a time for developing resilience. We celebrate the holiday season but we brace ourselves for the cold hard months ahead.

We try our hardest to make the most of whatever we have at hand. Whether materially, politically or emotionally, there could be some pretty bleak days ahead. We’ll do what we always have and power through.

Take the words of one of our most epic presidents to heart. We have to play the hand we’re dealt. Use what you’ve got to try to survive the lean times before us but hope that it will turn out better than we dread it could be.

The Grinch is a marvelous holiday tale that I look forward to every year. In fact, I look forward to the whole Christmastime cinematic and television experience. Now that it’s actually Christmastime, I think we can actually put all the regular repeats on pause and get with the holly jolly playlist just beClaus

Love ❤️ In ❤️ Action

Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas. ~Dale Evans

A Facebook friend of mine recently asked how old we were when we found out there was no such thing as 🎅🏻 Santa.

Naturally, I was aghast. As long as there is a speck of generosity and altruism in a single human heart, Santa is alive and well.

The very spirit of Christmas is love. It always has been and always will be.

Even though people try to make it a purely secular, materialistic, nonsense holiday, the crass commercialism of the season simply cannot entirely mask the notion that the gifts you are being cajoled into buying are still being given to someone.

No matter how hard they try to tarnish the core nature of the holiday, generosity and love still shine through from the very core of the season.

Give freely. Even if it’s just a smile or a kind word, feel free to give a little something of yourself this holiday season. Give early. Give often. Give whatever you can. Tis the season…

…Snowflakes in the air. Carols everywhere. Olden times and ancient rhymes. Of love and dreams to share…
