It’s hump 🐪 day again and I’m busy, as usual. That’s fine. It helps to pass the time.

Blinded By Love

Love to faults is always blind, always is to joy inclined. Lawless, winged, and unconfined, and breaks all chains from every mind. ~William Blake

Real love doesn’t get hung up on appearances or temporary fascinations.

Genuine, unconditional love sees the soul inside the tattered package.

I’m fortunate to enjoy the love of a dear woman with an angelic soul.

She has given me so much since first we met.

Love, admiration, support, children and undying devotion are not the entirety of every sweet gift I’ve received from this splendid specimen of femininity.

I have to stop sometimes and take stock of how lucky I am to have her in my life.

Science!

Thomas Dolby – She Blinded Me With Science

This little ditty jumped to mind as I was thinking about Kelly. The lady’s black dress makes her back look like a violin.

Kelly’s figure is pleasingly violin-shaped. 🎻 She thinks ill of her appearance, but I don’t.

“Good heavens Miss Sakamoto – you’re beautiful!”

She’s every bit as beautiful to me as the day we met.

Nobody stays the same over the years, but she doesn’t realize that she grows in beauty.

The longer I know her, the longer I want to.

Burdened By Secrets

Every man has his secret sorrows which the world knows not; and often times we call a man cold when he is only sad. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I’ve rewritten Dave’s intro a few times and I’m getting a better handle on how to present him.

He’s a damaged individual. It would be difficult for a well-adjusted person to live in the shadow of a world-famous superhero, but Dave carries the invisible scars of unresolved trauma.

All he really wants is for his dad to just be a regular guy and to never put them in harm’s way again.

Who in their right mind wouldn’t want that, particularly if they’ve had to stare down the barrels of a variety of guns?

It’s one thing when you volunteer for it. If you’re a soldier or a cop, there’s some expectation that you might well be shot at.

Dave’s a programmer. He just wants to stay in his room or his cubicle at work and make life better with software.

Unfortunately, he has found himself in dangerous situations. That, in itself, is a traumatic non sequitur for him. Programmers should not be staring down the barrels of guns. Kindergarteners should also not be staring down the barrels of guns.

Dave does not want to see any more guns. He wants to mind his own business and stay out of harm’s way.

But this is a series of superhero novels.

Sucks to be Dave.

There’s absolutely no way he’s getting off the hook that easily, y’all…

That’s all for today. I hope you’re loving your lovey-love with all your 💞 heart 💖 today.
