Today is National Cuban Sandwich Day, but I don’t have a loaf of Cuban bread.

Busy

The thing about it being Hump 🐪 Day is that I’m kind of maxed out. I pushed Monday and Tuesday to get some stuff done and off my plate, but it’s still overflowing anyway.

I’m tired of being busy. I’m tired, period.

I pushed too hard for too long and it caught up with me. I’m still recovering from that. That is all.

Looks tasty, but it’s a lot of work for a little sandwich. I’m not feeling it.

I enjoy a toasted sandwich as much as the next guy, but I can’t see myself marinating and slow-cooking some pork booty just to make a sandwich.

I enjoy food, but it’s not a passion for me like it is for other people.

That’s actually how I see my stories. I let the movie play in my mind and I transcribe what I’m seeing. More accurately, what I’m hearing.

This is why my manuscripts are so dialogue-heavy. I can’t type with my eyes closed. Not for very long, anyway.

Without the visuals, I have nothing to transcribe but the dialogue and a vague notion of the action.

This is a skill I need to develop. Somehow, I need to get the full scope of what’s in my head onto the page.

Unfortunately, I’m busy and I’m tired. It will have to wait.
