National Hot Mulled Cider Day 2023

Well, light my fire and add a cinnamon stick! It’s National Hot Mulled Cider Day. What a great way to be done with September…

Dividend

It is an extra dividend when you like the girl you’ve fallen in love with. ~Clark Gable

This is the part of the show where I get to gush on about how much I love Kelly.

Sweeter and spicier than an entire cauldron of mulled apple cider, my beloved wife is also more valuable to me than a cavern full of rubies.

I love her forever and always. She’s my best friend and I treasure her company. She’s a never-ending gift full of pleasant surprises.

Even more than my 🍂favorite season🍂, I love when Kelly is near me. Her presence is comforting, reassuring, faith-inducing and inspiring to me.

I really don’t have the words to adequately express how wonderful my wife, Kelly, is but I’ll certainly keep trying. She deserves to know.

With the cooling of temperatures, the presentation of food and drink must correspondingly warm up. Mulled cider is a treat I hadn’t considered before.

I always enjoyed apple cider as a seasonal treat, but the thought of warming it like a cozy cup of hot cocoa hadn’t occurred to me. Now? I can’t think of anything but.

The great thing about rolling with this national day of whatever calendar is that it points out some of my favorite treats and shows me some new ones.writing-divider

Consequences

In nature there are neither rewards nor punishments; there are consequences. ~Robert Green Ingersoll

That’s one of the cornerstones of storytelling, consequences. Character does this. That happens.

Not all consequences are intended. Someone means to do good, but it goes to pieces. That’s the heart of drama.

It can lead to farcical comedy or gut-wrenching tragedy.

How does this factor in for The Sentinels and Carol’s Christmas?

Guess we’ll see…

That’s all for today. I’ve got plenty of writing to, and the hour’s getting late. Carol’s Christmas must get done on time! ✍🏻
