Second Shot

So, I’m getting my second shot today and all the maskholes can just shut their pieholes. Fourteen days to flatten the curve became fourteen months to flatten the world economy. Isn’t stealth communism great?

Resuming Loveliness

The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also. ~Harriet Ann Jacobs

So, I’m getting my second shot today and even though I’m not “fully vaccinated” for another two weeks, I’d really like to dispense with the nonsense.

We never should have been wearing masks in the first damned place. It was an exercise in operant conditioning.

Frankly, we’re done being pushed around.

The most amazing thing is that bad policies have their own repercussions.

No matter how idealistic one is, being stupid causes calamity.

We’re seeing the evidence of that in the current administration’s half-baked application of ludicrous fantasies to real life.

We told them their ideas suck.

Now reality is smacking them in the face with it.

Green New Deal, my ass. Stupidity on steroids is what it is.

The downside is that no matter how reality spoils the best laid plans of rats and scoundrels, we’re still stuck with them for the next four years.

Even if all of the election audits find the obvious fraud that was foisted on us last November, there’s no mechanism that I’m aware of to recall the senile shitwit that the cheaters forced on us.

Would be nice to see the feckless old jackass get kicked out but I don’t know of an actual remedy other than not letting people fake votes for him in 2024.

Well, kind of. I can’t step out of the house without sneezing my face off.

So much the better. I don’t really want to step out of my house.

I like being indoors unless the temperatures are under 60°F anyway.

Flowers are nice and it’s good to have sunshine so the vegetables can grow, but I already can’t wait for 🍂 Autumn 🍂 to arrive.

This preview of summer stuff we’re getting now doesn’t suit me except as an excuse to stay the heck indoors until something more seasonable comes around.

Art is like a border of flowers along the course of civilization. ~Lincoln Steffens

Whether writing is intentional social commentary or basic entertainment, it still creates a decorative trim to the long slog of history.

It also lets you get a glimpse of what people considered to be topical or relevant at the time.

To a certain extent, this is based on the talent and perspective of the artists in any given timeframe.

It makes me wonder what contribution my work provides to people in the future regarding my timeframe.

If anything, I’m hoping to leave things better than I found them.

That’s all for today. I need to get on with a variety of other tasks. I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend.
