There are many seasons in life. In Pennsylvania, you can even have many seasons in the same week.

Seasons of the 💙

Love unlocks doors and opens windows that weren’t even there before. ~Mignon McLaughlin

I was lost and lonely when I was invited to the wedding of some people I knew from college. I had no inclination to go enjoy someone else’s happiness when I was feeling so miserable. Who needs somebody to bring their black cloud to a wedding?

Against my own worse inclinations, I went anyway. Good thing I did.

02MAY92I met my best friend and lifelong love at that wedding.

There’s nothing fake about that.

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get. ~Dale Carnegie

By this measure, I’m as happy and successful as anyone could ever hope to be. The only thing I need is to sit on the sofa and watch reruns with her. That’s all I’ll ever need.

Even so, it’s human nature to want all kinds of random things. I want a million dollars but I’m not likely to get it any time soon.

Love that smileSo what?

You’re allowed to want things while knowing you’re not going to get them. Fantasizing is exercise for the mind. Physical exercise legitimately hurts, so there shouldn’t be such a hassle for exercising my mind instead.

I just want to be with my wonderful wife, our silly kids and our crazy cats and dog. That’s all I really need.

A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same. ~Elbert Hubbard

Short and sweet. I was thinking how random Springtime is here in Pennsylvania.

I wouldn’t have it any other way. Some people like to live in the desert or down by the shore but I prefer the temperate variability of rural Pennsylvania. All four seasons (sometimes all in the same week) with beautiful colors and soothing breezes are available here.

Fortunately, today decided to be nice and gloomy. I thought it was supposed to be a blazing summer day but it’s actually drearily rainy.

This pleases me

If you are careful about the content and writing style, readers will not feel that you are in a hurry. ~Ravi Subramanian

So, I ought to be done with the first book of The Sentinels by now but the creative process isn’t so precise. There’s creating, editing, polishing and publishing. I’m still creating with incremental edits.

The whole COVID19 situation has created a bit of malaise for many people. Unfortunately, I’m one of them. Being stuck in a perpetual loop where you can’t tell Monday from Thursday took away some of the sense of urgency from this process.

Even so, reality reasserts itself periodically and I’m spurred back to action only to be lulled back into a Lotus-Eater frame of mind by the locked-down monotony.

Exsqueeze me for being human!

I’m moving along with a purpose and the book will soon be done. Stay tuned for developments…

That’s my hump 🐪 day disclosure. I hope you’re doing well and staying safe from the idiotic riots that seem to be in season.
