Twofer Friday

Okay, so I totally missed doing a post on Wednesday and it’s gotten close enough to my usual rant on Saturday that I thought I’d just make today a twofer.

Twice As Long

What I did have on Wednesday was another WC checkup. Since it’s been a month and the ankle still hurts, the doctor said I ought to get an MRI to have a closer look for tissue damage. It’s still swollen and I feel like I’m getting shanked with a screwdriver, so it seems like a good idea.

Normally, you’d think this would be something they could just call up and maybe get me scanned the same day or at least by the end of the week.

Nope

Actually, I was shocked from a dead sleep by a call to schedule the MRI today. That will be NEXT Friday morning. More on that… later.

Needless to say, I’m still not allowed to go back to work and will still not be getting paid. Gotta love it.

So, basically, this week and next are a total toss-off until the MRI gets done and analyzed. I’ll be hearing from the WC doc after that occurs to reschedule a visit and discuss just how messed up my ankle actually is and how long it would take to get back on the production floor.

Considering the WC adjuster punted the notion of actually letting me attend Physical Therapy, we’ll see if the results of the MRI make them more accommodating.

Cheap Thrills

There are any number of things you can do with no money, but keeping current on the bills ain’t among them. I don’t need dollar bills to have fun tonight, but I’ll need some to keep the lights on and what not.

To that end, I’m getting up to speed on my extended rights marketplace and revamping my lead magnets. Yeah, Rob, you’ve been saying that. Well, I don’t get that much computer time since my laptop died. Gimme a minute, will ya?

New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings

The natural response to life’s little inconveniences is to become all neurotic and controlling. A lot of people take that approach. I’ve even been known to give it a try.

What’s the point?

You can’t change the wind but you can put up a windmill or unfurl a sail and turn it into motion. When life zigs, we need to zag. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

If I’m deprived of the capacity to make money at a job, then I’ve got an opportunity to make money without a job. So much the better! While this may very well be the end of my ability to do ANY job that involves standing around 12 hours a night, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sure, it was convenient in its own way but it’s not really good for your health or mental stability in the long run. I seem to have no option left other than to pursue my passion as a way of providing marketable value at this point.

Fine by me.

Okay, you’re just bitching and ranting and didn’t give us two posts worth of information. Too bad. That’s where I am today. I’ve got other things to get on with.
