Book Sale
The only thing better than the swift passage of my least favorite season is the periodic joy of a book sale. Something that my wife and I share is a love of books that approaches a dragon’s lust for gold and a hobbit’s craving for mushrooms.
Gold
Books can take you to other worlds or other times in this very world.
Books with pictures and books without. Thick scholarly books and thin, colorful kids’ books.
We love books!
Particularly books written by friends of mine. Check out First Quest by my friend Enola. It’s a rollicking good adventure and I’ve been twisting her arm to get the second book of the series done because the world definitely needs more Glop!
If ever Kelly and I become crazy hoarders, you can expect to find us in a labyrinth stuffed with stacks and stacks and stacks of books!
Mushrooms
Something my wife and I do NOT share is my love of mushrooms. She’s in the majority of people who could basically live without them in her diet entirely.
I, on the other hand, am genuinely sad if a day goes by without a chance to chow down on these magnificent treats. Oh, I like them on pizza. I like them broiled in butter. I like them in gravy. I like them boiled and smothered in gravy. I like enormous mushroom caps stuffed with crab.
Let’s just be honest…
Okay, I’m gonna go crazy here but here are some recipes I can’t wait to try!
What To Do
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
~J. R. R. Tolkien
I’ve decided to go shopping with my wife today.
In general, I’ve decided to focus on my writing and get that series out and published. Recuperating from a sprained ankle gives me plenty of time to do just that.
Good God, it still freaking hurts. Ow!
So, that’s the big news for this Saturday edition. I hope you are doing something you enjoy as much as Kelly and I enjoy book sales.
