Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is a lovely day in my neighborhood and I suspect it’s a lovely day in Mom’s neck of the peninsula as well.

Unfinished Business

I said last time that this time I’d have something to tell you.

Oh well. The medicine that is helping me to heal also makes me drowsy. Between naptime and physical therapy and doctor visits, I haven’t gotten a lot of work done.

I do have ideas, which is more than I’ve had in ages but the actual implementation has yet to occur.

M is for the million things she gave me…

How can one ever adequately express appreciation for one’s own mother?

She was my first teacher. She helped me through good times and bad.

My happiest memories involve my mother and the many roles she has played in my life.

Even with my recent accident, we had the good fortune to enjoy a visit from my Mom and Dad shortly after.

When all is said and done, Mom is always there.

The Good Life

God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well. ~Voltaire

My parents have done their best to give my sister and me a good life and a good example for us to follow. They’ve worked hard for years and are enjoying their happily ever after.

Again, nobody deserves a happily ever after more than my Mom & Dad. I’ve looked up to them my entire life and they have been a splendid example of an ideal marriage for me.

I hope to stay in love as long as they have and to enjoy my golden years with Kelly the way that Mom and Dad are. I have no personal desire to move to Florida or other points South, but I suspect that we’ll enjoy our happily ever after when the time comes.

I recently experienced a bit of a reminder that life is a precious gift from God. In recognizing that, I also celebrate that my Mom is one of the many wonderful gifts that God has blessed me with in this life of mine.

Thanks, Mom, for being there whenever I’ve needed you. I love you.

Well, that’s enough sentimental mushiness for one Sunday afternoon. I have a number of other things to get on with. Some of them might even be noteworthy in an upcoming post.
