Steadily Better

Well, we’re halfway through another week. It is officially Autumn now, so life is getting steadily better. The weather is improving. My injuries are healing, albeit slowly.

The Short List

So, the list of things I ought to avoid has gotten fairly short. Sneezing is still a no-no. Boy, that hurts! Twisting is inadvisable. My sides and back are not particularly accommodating to that particular motion. I’m going to hazard a guess that lifting anything of significant weight would also be a lamentable experience. I haven’t tried yet, but I can tell it would probably be really unpleasant so that will have to wait a while.

I also have a short list of things I’d like to attend to this week, but the muscle relaxant that was prescribed to me tends to make me drowsy. Getting much of anything done is rather a chore, but I do have a specific to-do list for the week.

Chief among the tasks to be accomplished is to get some Thank You cards written. There are so many people who contributed to my rescue and many more who helped my family in my brief absence. It is truly a blessing to have friends, family and First Responders to take the time to look after me and my household.

Other tasks are work-related. Those that I complete will be mentioned in the next post.

Red Pill

In the era of fake news, there are an intrepid few who are actually engaging in legitimate investigative journalism. Chief among these is James O’Keefe of Project Veritas. His hidden camera videos are really rocking the foundations of the entrenched bureaucracy and the miserable hangers-on who thrive in the shadows.

Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman ~Louis D. Brandeis

Even if you are not a fan of the current President, it is so important that you take a look at the videos on the Project Veritas channel. These people are bold as brass when they think they’re skulking in the shadows. Nothing like catching people in their own words to show you just how deep the rot goes through our government and our society.

Healing Therapy

The greatest healing therapy is friendship and love. ~Hubert H. Humphrey

One of the many ways in which I am genuinely and copiously blessed is to have so many people who offer prayers and well wishes. I believe that I can attribute no small part of my miraculous near miss to the prayers and love of those who interceded on my behalf.

I’ve had entirely too many people telling me just how lucky I am to have gotten away with a mere couple of fractured ribs. Of all the things that might have happened, just about none of them happened. Honestly, if you could see just how much clearance there is NOT between the ground and the bottom of my van, you’d be totally justified in being mystified as to how I came away with such a minor injury.

Admonitions and incredulousness aside, I am genuinely blessed to be receiving a continuous supply of kind thoughts and well wishes all around.

For this, I am genuinely and humbly grateful.

Despite the discomfort of recovering, I do feel that things are getting steadily better. Hopefully, I’ll be awake long enought to get my to-do items done so I can tell you about them next time.
