So, we got our puppy, Rose, today. She’s just about 2 months old and ready to leave her mom.

Shamrock Shakes In Full Effect

Connor came home for the board breaking seminar at USA Martial Arts on Wednesday. This happened to be the official 2020 launch date for McDonald’s Shamrock Shake and the new OREO Shamrock McFlurry.

Naturally, we had one of each. Too bad that Emmeline didn’t get to have one on Wednesday even though they had actually been available since Monday.

Aussiedoodle – All Facts About The Friendly Furry Partner

So, right now, Rose is a tiny little puppy. Based on the size of her parents, we’re not expecting her to get as big as Yuji but I guess we’ll see when we see.

The cats are slowly introducing themselves to her and that’s going well. She’s tiny and tired, so she’s no threat to them yet.

Once she grows a bit and gets more rambunctious, their demeanor may change. Hopefully, growing up with cats around will teach her how to be calm.  I guess we’ll see.

My Cup Runneth Over

We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out. ~Ray Bradbury

I’ve been on a real bonanza this week. The story is coming along nicely and I should be back to where I was in the Third Person Omniscient (3PO) version fairly quickly. There are different elements in play using the Point of View (POV) characters. Some elements of the 3PO version will be much harder to accomplish, but I’m sure we’ll figure out a way to get the material covered.

Originally, Dave Wisler was much nicer and very engaged with his Dad’s superhero team. I envisioned him as being a total jerk when I first created the character, so I came back to that in the POV. Seeing things through his eyes makes it easier to paint him as the abrasive jackass I first intended for him to be.

It’s also making it easier for me to get to the dramatic climax of the story. Since he’s a complete jerk, I don’t feel as bad about what needs to happen. In the 3PO, Dave was every bit as nice as his Dad. It made it a lot more difficult to maintain dramatic tension when everybody gets along.

In reality, you’d expect people to get along in order to function as a team. In fiction, you need to create interpersonal drama to keep the reader’s attention. It’s more like a soap opera if you can keep at least some of the team in minor conflict with each other.

I did already have a fair amount of friction among the members and operatives of The Conclave. They’re a contentious bunch of villainous codgers. I have to admit, it’s a lot of fun writing bad guy scenes.

On another note, I’ve sold a copy of A Misfit Christmas and 8 copies of the Christmas Cryptograms and will be receiving royalties at the end of the month. Yahoo!

Puppy training and more Sentinels writing to occupy the weekend. I hope yours is as joyful as mine.
