4 New Chapters
After the gratuitous buzz that comes from going to a book sale, I was inspired to hit the keys and crank out 4 chapters in my work in progress novel. That’s a great start.

I’ve got some new assignments this week and plenty left to do from before.
I’m glad to be busy, occupied and otherwise hip deep in job security.
I’ve gotten better at ripping through data conversions, so that’s working to my favor.

I’ve only watched one of the three episodes that dropped last Friday but they packed it with dark humor, social commentary and enough grotesque sex and violence to top the first two seasons.

If you’re a writer, you can actually do both at the same time.
The four chapters I wrote are straight-up storytelling. I don’t have a desire to do social commentary at this point.
There’s a popular notion that “good” fiction has to have some sort of message.
Maybe I’ll figure out what that is as I develop the plot, but I’m not seeing any nor am I planning for it.
I just want to tell some fun, escapist stories with some engaging characters doing interesting things.
If that makes me pedestrian, go figure. Gas is already over $5 a gallon and threatening to go higher.
