Busy Little Bee
I’ve got tons to do and nary a moment to do it, as usual. 🐝 that as it may, there’s a bit more time available when I don’t have any 🍯 shows to binge.
Busy Being Busy
Beware the barrenness of a busy life. ~Socrates
And more’s the pity because I could use a little distraction from the grindstone.
There are some things I spent a lot of time and effort on that aren’t going to come to anything. It’s pretty annoying, but these things happen in IT.
Nevertheless, stuff must get done no matter how it transpires.
That’s all. Just git ‘er done. Whatever…
A Dose Of 🌞Summer🔥 For You
Flight of the Bumblebee Animated in Color
I don’t have much to say today. I’m pretty tired from being busy being busy, so I’ll let the bees be busy for a while.
I finally got the AC in my bedroom window. Fans just weren’t doing the job.
SImply stated, I despise 🌞Summer🔥 and can’t wait for the gentle embrace of 🍂 Autumn 🍂.
Soon, dear friends, soon...
Let the bees buzz as they will. In 🍂 Autumn 🍂, all the bugs are still.
Until then, there’s AC and plenty of work of my own to do.
Business Of Art
The business of art is to reveal the relation between man and his environment. ~D. H. Lawrence
Nothing demonstrates a relationship between man (or Superman) and the environment like a superhero story.

I don’t want to go as far as all that with The Sentinels, at least not in the first trilogy of the overall series.
Another aspect of “environment” is reflected in the set pieces. We often think of “environment” as climate, a jungle to traverse or a mountain to be climbed but it can also be a social environment.
Superhero stories often take place in cities. This is mostly because the comic book artists lived in cities and it’s easier to envision a caped vigilante stopping crime in a city than out in the ‘burbs or the countryside.
As such, the classic Golden Age antagonists were typically mooks, crooked politicians/industrialists or Axis spies. In more nuanced stories, one leads to another.
Typically, street-level crooks are out for a quick buck, some gratuitous bullying or acting at the behest of a “boss”.
Sometimes, the “boss” is the management-level baddie. Might be a mafia capo, a corrupt mayor, a greedy business owner or someone who’s acting at the behest of someone is operating from the shadows.
These shadowy operators are often motivated by personal avarice or ambition, but ultimately serve some nefarious purpose, whether that’s the Axis, alien overlords or ancient/occult conspiracies.
I’m still in the process of working this out for Empire City. There will be mooks, bosses and shadowy conspirators.
It’s all very formulaic, but it still doesn’t make a lot of sense. Is it any wonder I’m having a hard time getting back to it?
At least the software has a set end point. This story line simply isn’t gelling for me. 😟
That’s all for today. The bees may be buzzing, but my mind is in idle. It’s a random 🌞Summer🔥 Hump Day. ‘Nuff said…
