National Archery Day 2024

In a brief break in the lovely rain we’ve been enjoying lately, today is 🏹 National Archery Day 🎯

It’s a lovely spring Saturday, so get out and do whatever it is you find enjoyable.

I’ve always enjoyed archery. Who doesn’t want to be Robin Hood? Right?

I’ve had a productive week at work and am feeling fairly refreshed.

Sadly, what’s not refreshing is to have to prepare for yet another medical procedure.

Hopefully, this works out better than previous ones. I’d sure like to get a reprieve after this one.

Either way, it provides me an opportunity to sit still for a while and get some writing done.

New to Archery? | 5 Tips for your First Day of Shooting Archery

I wasn’t competitive in the practice of archery and didn’t pursue it for hunting. For me, it was just fun to target shoot, gather up my arrows and do it again.

That’s another thing that appealed to me about archery. You can’t really reuse bullets. Sure, shooting guns is fun but loosing arrows is more cost-effective.

If you ever get a chance to try it, I think you’ll find it enjoyable. Release your inner Robin Hood and see if you can stick a bullseye.

🏹 Difficulty 🎯

Great art is never produced for its own sake. It is too difficult to be worth the effort. ~Robert Quillen

So, the difficulties at work that had been corking my creative juices have largely resolved.

I still have a crap-ton of work to do, as usual, but it doesn’t have the same sort of pressure as what I’ve finished up.

In any case, I’ll be spending some brain cycles to getting back on track with The Sentinels.

I’ve been letting it percolate in my subconscious, but nothing has bubbled to the surface yet.

That’s fine. I’ve been busy working on reports and data conversion work.

Even so, it’s the weekend. That is supposed to be writing time, not work-coma recovery time.

That’s what I’m up to at the moment. I’ll be making the most of my long weekend (hopefully).

I’ll let you know how that works out on Wednesday. See you then.

That’s it for today. I hope you enjoy your weekend. I’ll enjoy it being over, which is somewhat rare for me.
