National Moldy Cheese Day 2024

You may be repulsed, but I swear it’s delicious. Today is National Moldy Cheese Day and I’m bleu for lack of a salad to put this delicious stuff on top of.

The Best Casserole Ever

Age is something that doesn’t matter, unless you are a cheese. ~Luis Buñuel

Long, long ago, in a county somewhat far away…

When I met Kelly, she was an ardent vegetarian. I was not.

Certainly, I like vegetables. Always have.

One fateful day, I invited her over to enjoy a vegetarian meal of my own creation.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

That might be overstating a bit. I actually liked it, but it took a while to eat it all.

There were ziti, beans and an entire block of bleu cheese.

Admittedly, it was a bit strong. It would have benefitted with the addition of some zucchini or spinach or possibly ¾ less of the block of bleu cheese.

She was a good sport about it and married me anyway.

I love stories with a happy ending and salads with bleu cheese dressing.

A quick look at how blue cheese was discovered

Everybody has their guilty pleasures.

One of mine is bleu cheese dressing.

None of my kids have developed a taste for it.

So much the better. I can have the entire bottle to myself.

Bwa-ha-ha-ha…

True Bleu

I could binge-eat cheese – I love any blue cheese. Make it strong; make it deadly. ~Jonathan Anderson

In a zippy and unexpected twist, I’ve found that my core premise for this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance isn’t bearing fruit or growing colonies or whatever.

I’m not abandoning the whole thing, of course. The core characters are all pretty solid and the basic plot points are somewhat mandated by the genre, so no problem there.

I came up with a core concept for next year’s story that I’m pretty enthusiastic about, but I still need to write this year’s story.

There’s that and the itch to get back to The Sentinels, but I’m so ridiculously busy at work. By the end of the day, I’m ready to go into a coma.

It’s a wonder I even had the mental wherewithal to write this. I really need a nap…

That’s it for today. It’s a busy week and I have no time to sit around collecting spores. I hope you have a zesty, moldy rest of the week.
