Happy Thanksgiving Day 2017
It’s that day again. Parades, food, football, food, family, food and more food! We’re blessed to live in a country with such bountiful crops. I’m particularly lucky to live out here in the countryside among the fertile fields of local farmers. I get to see the crops grow and get moved to farm stands throughout the county as well as to grocery stores. I’m grateful that I was born in this marvelous country and can enjoy the benefits of Western Civilization.
Gobble, Gobble
Kelly cooked the turkey last night in preparation for the family get-together. We’re doing the standard Thanksgiving Dinner with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and the works. Why? Why not? Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and the works are freaking delicious!!! The In-Laws are all coming over to enjoy the meal with us. It’s a wonderful chance to spend a relaxing day with loved ones and enjoy the flavors of the season.
Bountiful Blessings
When you’re taking stock of life’s many blessings, don’t forget to include the basics: food, clothing and shelter.
Do you have food to eat today? Give thanks if you do. So many in our world and even in our country do not.
Do you have warm clothing to wear? Give thanks if you do. It’s a struggle for far too many people to afford clothing that is climate-appropriate.
Do you have safe shelter to live in? Give thanks if you do. Far too many of us are living on park benches and back alleys under cardboard.
Can we agree that blessings come from God and that we should give credit where credit is due? Consider the following and give thanks to God for giving us our meat in due season.

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
