Painterly summer scene of little Rose, a silver Yorkie mix in a pink harness, stubbornly refusing to step off the grass onto a shimmering hot sidewalk beneath the title "Not Walking Weather, Rose."

You mean 🌞 Summer πŸ”₯ is going to get even hotter before it’s over? Are you Sirius? It can’t be over soon enough…

The heat was so intense that it seemed to rise in waves from the earth. ~Willa Cather, My Ántonia

Temps are rising again. Who needs it?

I guess it’s good for something, but I can’t imagine what.

The only thing that’s good for me about it is to make me appreciate πŸπŸ§Έβ˜• Cozy Season ☺️πŸ₯§πŸ‚ when it finally comes.

No, as usual, axial tilt is the reason for the season.

The manner in which the planet orbits the sun is neither circular nor flat.

We follow a skewed elliptical path, and the planet is tilted on its axis.

The upshot is that when our hemisphere is tilted toward the sun, we get the heat and haze associated with my least favorite season.

When our hemisphere is tilted away, we get nicer weather and comfier clothes.

Trash men, Amazon delivery people, folks walking or bicycling by?

They all get a savage rebuke from my tiny little fuzzball.

She has one job and she does it well, whether you’re on the phone or a Teams meeting.

Nothing stops the protective fury of a pewter-colored Yorkie mix taking her job seriously.

Having discharged her duties faithfully, she goes back to her napping in anticipation of Kelly’s return.

With Rose around, every day is a dog day.

Who could ask for anything more?

That’s all for today. See you back on Saturday for πŸ‰
