Weekend Away

My munchkins are on the go this weekend. My son gets to go camping with his Scout Troop for the first time in quite a while. The weather hasn’t been particularly friendly for outdoorsmanship. My daughter is zipping off to parts most yonder on one of her musical adventures again. Me? I just wanna sleep…

Technical Difficulties

So, I’m settling down into something like a holding pattern. Two videos a day doesn’t seem like all that ambitious a goal, but honestly with all the running around I do it’s a minor miracle I’m getting these things cranked out.

Fortunately, I got a new tablet. My tablet died recently, but fortunately I had bought the protection plan so I just had to go through the gyrations to get it replaced. I’m going to try recording the audio on the tablet now. The laptop just has a really noisy sound. Even tweaking it with Audacity leaves me sounding like a Stormtrooper. Hopefully, the tablet will give me a better quality of sound to work with.

Some More Rules

Rule #241: Not yet cited in Star Trek episodes, movies or novels

A good film is when the price of the dinner, the theatre admission and the babysitter were worth it. ~Alfred Hitchcock

I’m overdue for a good movie. Kind of a shame Hollywood has stopped making those. My son is planning to be a screenwriter. Hopefully, he’ll be able to bring some originality and creativity back to Hollywood. We’ll see.

Rule #242: More is good…all is better

Ferengi and their zero-sum game. They don’t seem to understand that a rising tide lifts all ships. It’s not really about eating the whole pie yourself. Some people take that approach, but they don’t seem to realize that you can make more and more pies. The marketplace is less like a pie to be sliced than it is a friendship bread to be shared and expanded upon.

Rule #243: Always leave yourself an out

If you’re shifty, this is really important. If you’re not shifty, you won’t need an out.

For me, as an introvert, having an out is more along the lines of giving myself a way to escape to my quiet place where I can recharge. If you’re an extrovert, having an out is more like having an outing. Extroverts get their recharge from group vibe and parties and nights out with friends.

Rule #244-254: Not yet cited in Star Trek episodes, movies or novels

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. ~Confucius

The going has been painfully slow, but I’m not stopping. The wise man of ancient China has hit it on the head. When you’re waiting for progress to progress, the only way to keep the clock ticking is to keep on pushing. Keep on doing. Keep on keeping on. Persevere.

Rule #255: A wife is a luxury…a smart accountant is a necessity

My goodness. I can’t identify with that at all. I do need a smart accountant, though.

Keeping it short this weekend. I’ve got lots of driving to do between video editing sessions. Gah! You wouldn’t think I was so busy, but gosh it’s really an all day deal.
