I was so busy yesterday that I didn’t even get to write this post. So, I thought I’d get it done before I ran out of weekend.

What “THEY” Say…

Don’t you love when the “experts” tell you “just do this and that will happen“?

 Nope

I did all the classic things and my site got exactly 0 visitors EVER.

Well, it was well past time to send that horse to the glue factory. That’s exactly what happened Friday. I was able to flush every single thing associated with the  Pioneer Skill Set  brand right down the electronic drain, never to be seen again.

If nobody else cared about the project, why the hell should I? I was struggling to summon the necessary interest to put more articles on the site. The only thing it taught me is what NOT to do.

So, what WILL I do?

I’ve got the puzzle books on Amazon in association with my Christmas site. In theory, those will pick up some buyers in coming weeks. I also have most of my Christmas story written for the site. At this rate, I will definitely be done before Thanksgiving and will be in a position to get it staged for daily release throughout the holiday season.

I made the decision to move Bryce and Veronica’s Hallmarkesque tale over to the Sentinels-verse. I ran into the same questions of needing to fictionalize places that I mentioned in the story. The mystery aspect of the story rose to the level of requiring intervention from the principal heroes of my upcoming novel.

For the benefit of future fans (fingers crossed), the Holiday Season Serial Romances will take place in the Sentinelsverse and will be considered “canon”.

Why do I say that?

Everybody knows that hardcore fans get their undies in a bunch about what is considered canon. As the creator, author and initiator of the Sentinelsverse, I can tell you authoritatively and officially that these stories (while tangential) are actually canon.

The stories will be compiled into novellas that are going to be sold under the Christmas All The Time label even though they are officially stories in the Sentinelsverse. They are primarily Christmas stories and will be marketed as such.

A Little Mood Music To Start Thanksgiving Week

Relaxing Thanksgiving JAZZ & Bossa Nova

As much as I love putting the sleigh before the turkey, Thanksgiving week is deserving of special attention. To that end, I found you some pumpkiny sweet Thanksgiving Jazz to listen to.

Thanksgiving Is Perpetual

I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual. ~Henry David Thoreau

Last year, I wrote about a notion that our pastor brought up in a sermon: Thanksliving. I mentioned a variety of benefits to living in gratitude.

A full year later, I find that I’ve been so focused on my recovery and the corresponding physical discomfort that I’ve nearly forgotten to do any of that.

To be fair, I am immensely grateful that I feel this much better than I did last year. I’ve had a lot of medical help and intervention in the passing months and it has put me in a much better place physically than I was last Thanksgiving Day. MUCH better. I am, indeed, quite grateful for my slow but definite recovery.

As we roll up on another turkey day, I have to make a more concerted effort to focus on the gratitude that leads to true healing. I’ve spent a lot of time anticipating pain and that’s a lot of what I’ve been experiencing. I need to spend more time anticipating good things so that my subconscious will be more focused on delivering them instead of neverending varieties of pain and discomfort.

It’s really hard to ignore pain. Sometimes, I can manage it. Most times, the pain takes center stage. It’s time to drop the curtain on that program and get back on the Road to Success.

That’s the weekend round-up for you. Enjoy your short week. I’ll be back on Wednesday with another Thanksliving thought before you carve your birds and pies.
