Dorothy Is 19

My precious little munchkin has turned 19! I can remember the day she came to us like it was yesterday.

Happy Birthday

☝️ Here’s a song from Dorothy’s favorite group 👆

God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well. ~Voltaire

Dorothy is a glorious gift from God. She has such a sweet disposition and a childlike zest for life. We’re not sure where life will take her but we know she’ll have fun getting there.

You Are God’s Glorious Gift!

I found this acrostic poem about loving one’s daughter and made a video to celebrate Dorothy’s 19th Birthday.

The name Dorothy literally means gift from God, so the poem seemed apropos.

Each daughter of God is of infinite worth because of her divine mission. ~Russell M. Nelson

Intense Individualism

Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known. ~Oscar Wilde

Given the generalities of any genre, it’s still an exercise of individualism to tell your story. Only you can tell the story that occurs to you. You pick the names. You pick the places. You pick the events. It’s all you!

On another note, I’ve added a new link to the bar on the right over there. It’s a link to my Christmas site. I write a post every month from February through October and daily from Thanksgiving through Epiphany. In previous years, the daily posts have been articles on holiday-related matters.

Starting this year, I’m writing a scene daily for what will become a novella. Each story, upon completion, will be compiled into a format that’s readable on devices like Kindle and Nook. It will also be available in print on demand for those of us who prefer a paperback in our hands.

She’s going shopping for her birthday because what else would a girly girl do to celebrate her special day?
