Seed Plots

About a month or so ago, all I had was two character names:
I dug in and started crafting this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance. I’m now on track to be done before Christmas Day.
I honestly had no idea what was going to happen in this story. Now, I’m closing in on the big finale.
Freakin’ wild
Even so, I’ve followed my process and it’s paying off very well for me. Add to that the fact that I was able to schedule all of the Mondays in November and December as PTO, and we’ve got a nearly finished story. Huzzah!
Live-Action
The Year Without A Santa Claus 2006
Gonna be honest. I haven’t seen this yet. I’d rather be able to link to the original Rankin & Bass stop-motion animated Christmas Special.
Even so, it’s a classic holiday romp and I’m willing to give it a go if only to hear the oh-so classic Miser Brothers songs.

Another substitute that I’m hoping to give a try is a batch of faux-sugar Christmas cookies. For me, Christmas isn’t quite Christmas without all the traditional treats or a reasonable facsimile thereof. We’ll see what I can come up with…
Individual
Most artists like to think of themselves as rugged individualists, as independent characters. ~Jack Levine
And this is where “starving artists” come from. While the art is actually from a place of individualism, the commercial failure or success of that art in the marketplace depends on the people who would buy those works.
This is why I decided to cave on the POV of the first trilogy. I can keep the 1st/Present stuff for standalone, deep dive character books that run parallel to the main tridecology.
Speaking of running parallel to The Sentinels, I’ve actually gotten to the part of Holly and Ivy where the superhero hijinks turn up.
I have always said that each Holiday Season Serial Romance takes place in the Sentinelsverse and will feature someone from the main tridecology, either directly or by mention.
Mary Christmas appeared in A Misfit Christmas. Hellion and Claw turned up in All I Want. We’ll have to wait and see who turns up in this year’s tale.
