Mongolian Bowl
Allan and I enjoyed an interesting dinner at Khan’s Mongolian Grill.
Flippin’ Impossible
It’s kind of fun to do the impossible. ~Walt Disney
Being on vacation has given me a break from doing the basically impossible things I’m typically tasked with doing.
That’s very restful.
As a part of my R&R, Kelly has decided that instead of doing the technically impossible, I should do the physically impossible instead.
My feet and ankles have a rather specific mileage at this point. As part of our relaxing vacation, we’re now endeavoring to double that.
Frankly, my feet are in absolute agony and I look forward to hitting the sack every night.
Mongolian Folk Music
The Altai band from Mongolia
In honor of today’s special dinner, I replaced the typical jazz ensemble with a Mongolian folk band.
Give it a try. It’s interesting and unusual.
Throat singing can get old kind of fast if you’re not into it, but they’re not doing too much of that in this performance.
I hope you enjoy it.
Theater Of The Mind
If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed. ~Stanley Kubrick
Several people have asked if I’m going to sell film rights to my stories. Sure, if that works out, I’d be happy to see my stuff adapted for large or small screens.
That’s definitely putting the cart ahead of the horse.
For me, writing is actually more like transcribing a movie that’s playing in my head. That’s how I work. That’s my process.
I wonder if an actual live-action enactment of my final product would measure up to what’s in my head. I also wonder if it would be a zillion times better.
The thing is, my story in my head is what it is. A film or TV show is the product of teams of talented specialists who put all the little touches on that all the fanboi mega-geeks like to obsess about.
I still haven’t got a great idea of what Foxfire’s costume looks like. Kinda, but I’m sure a professional costume designer would exceed my hazy vision without giving it a second thought.
That’s the great thing about collaborative storytelling.
That’s what makes games like D&D fun to play.
A novelist may have a cool idea, but a team of talented specialists can make an idea genuinely shine.
I’m not there yet. I still have to finish Merry 🔔 Bells and The Sentinels to have anything to collaborate about.
Don’t rush me, man. I’m on vacation…
That’s it. i’d probably write more but the internet connection here is dreadfully slow and I’m exhausted from all the extra walking around. I hope your week is going well.
