Sailing On Home

It’s been a lovely trip, but it’s time to pack out and go home. Fortunately, I still have my No Monday Policy in place and will have a few days to get some writing done.

There’s not a whole lot of my favorite season left, but there are a few key holidays tucked between now and the beginning of ❄️ Winter ❄️.

The next one in line is Thanksgiving 🦃 Day and that kicks off my also-favorite time of the year.

Yes, friends, it’s time for the annual Holiday Season Serial Romance to roll out. Sadly, it will probably not be written in its entirety before Thanksgiving 🦃 Day, but I have given myself a fair amount of lead time and expect to be done before Christmas 🎄 Day.

That’s something to be thankful for…

This Insane Snow Storm Just Keeps Getting Worse…

So, we’re driving home from the pleasingly chilly beach to the snowy hills of home.

Hopefully, they’ve got the roads cleaned up because I don’t consider being stuck on the highway to be a quality part of my vacation.

Smooth sailing for me, thank you very much.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere. ~Albert Einstein

Between the tourism sights, the restaurants, the long walks on the beach and the resulting plantar fasciitis, I’ve had some time to kick back and chill.

I have endeavoured to think of absolutely nothing but being on vacation and I have largely succeeded.

It seems a bit counterproductive not to make use of my time away, but being a legitimate vacation from absolutely everything has been pretty beneficial.

Not stressing about work and not stressing about writing while not at work has been rather restful.

I’ve had an opportunity to be entirely here with Kelly and the family. That’s a very worthwhile thing and I’m glad I had a chance to enjoy this time together.

I’ve got to be honest, though.

I’m itching to get back to it, so it’s just as well we’re going home.

I’ll be thinking about Meredith and Toby the whole ride home and also when we take the rental car back to the airport.

In the vacation house, I’ve tried to think as little as possible. Now that it’s over, I’ve got to let my imagination get back into gear and finish this story.

I’ve also got to get my feet soaking. Yeeow! I don’t usually walk around this much.

I’m usually too wrapped up in my work to get out and walk like I should and I really paid for it on vacation.

It’s going to be great to get back, but I need to start walking more so I don’t get myself in this pickle again.

I can get some quality thinking done while I walk around my neighborhood.

I can also get some quality non-thinking done while I walk around my neighborhood if I need to give my tired brain a break.

That being said, I need to recover from my current state in order to be able to enjoy a decent walk in the coming weeks.

Man, do my feet and ankles hurt like crazy…

That’s all for today. I’ve got a long day of driving to attend to. See you when I get back.
