National Cocoa Day 2025

Not a moment too soon, today is National Cocoa Day! We’re halfway through πŸ•―οΈ Advent πŸ•―οΈ, so remember to slow down and enjoy this creamy sweet holiday treat. β˜•

Keeps You Warm

Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off. It takes you by surprise at first, but keeps you warm for a long time. ~Henri FrΓ©dΓ©ric Amiel

There’s something inherently warm and reassuring about the word cocoa.

It rhymes with Santa’s πŸŽ…πŸ» ho ho.

It’s a fairly common name for a pet.

Let’s admit it. It is absolutely πŸπŸ§Έβ˜• cozy ☺️πŸ₯§πŸ‚.

I can’t get enough of the stuff.

From the moment it stops being hot out, it’s β˜• cocoa season β˜• nonstop until well into πŸ’ Springtime 🌷.

Cocoa πŸ’£ Bombs!

DIY Hot Cocoa Bombs | $5 Edible Gifts

Unlike the Fist of Vengeance that got Matt sent home for the holidays, cocoa bombs won’t result in injury.

I’m a huge fan of bath bombs, so the idea of a cocoa bomb is sufficiently cozy that I just want to give it a try.

Fortunately, I found some at the store and will be testing them out today.

Of course, there’s the tried-and-true way of making cocoa on a frigid almostWinter day.

Rip the packet open and pour in the hot water or milk.

If you want your cocoa extra-creamy, you have to use milk instead of water.

If you want your cocoa magically bougie, you can follow this guy’s process for replicating the πŸ§πŸ»β€β™€οΈ elf-perfected β˜• recipe from the first Santa Clause movie.

Blustery cold days should be spent propped up in bed with a mug of hot chocolate and a pile of comic books. ~Bill Watterson

That sounds absolutely delightful, but I’d be afraid of spilling cocoa in my bed.

Beds are for sleeping and matrimonial πŸ˜‰ fun.

I prefer my cocoa on the shelf beside my computer so I can enjoy the creamy chocolate flavor while I’m writing this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance.

With any luck, I’ll get most of the rest of πŸ’‘πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ Goodness & Lights πŸŒŸπŸŽ„πŸ’‘ done this weekend. Maybe even all of it.

I’ve also been doing developmental work on Tales Of Olde Auringia, but that’s still largely conceptual.

Mostly, I’m just enjoying the holiday season as best I can.

I got my shopping done for Kelly and wrapped all of her presents.

That’s the most important part.

She’s my favorite person and an absolute 🎁 from God.

If anything’s giving me peace this year, it’s recognizing that she is the greatest of my many blessings.

That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for bicycles to wings…
