Okay, Now It’s Summer…Blech!
My least favorite season has officially begun. So much the better. The sooner it starts, the sooner it can be over.
All Day
A man is what he thinks about all day long. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Apparently, I am an unending stream of random projects.
That’s fine. At least these projects have specific beginnings and ends to them.
The downside is that I’m nowhere near done one thing than another two or three turn up.
It is certainly motivation to get things done even if it doesn’t particularly facilitate getting anything done.
Splitting attention over too many projects almost guarantees that none of them will get done to anyone’s satisfaction.
Even so, that’s exactly what I plan to do.
Stay tuned…

Thank Almighty God, I’ve got a work from home job.
If I had all that stuff to do and had to commute back and forth somewhere, I’d be even farther behind than I already am.
Shaving that hour off in either direction does wonders for my capacity to do as much as I do.
I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work from the comfort of my own cozy little cottage.
It’s so much better than my previous positions in so many ways, not the least of which is having complete control of my environmental controls.
I Have No Words

Needless to say, getting piled on with work stuff pretty much guarantees that I’m getting no writing done at all.
Just as well, I still have to get back to the plot outline so that I don’t run off on a tangent or get bogged down in details that don’t push the plot forward.
Sounds like a cop out but it’s true. I’ve realized that I’m a lot more on-task if I’ve got a vague outline to stick to.
Works great for my Holiday Season Serial Romances, so it ought to do wonders for the Sentinels series whenever I’ve actually got time and brain cycles to spare. Both are currently in very short supply.
The good news is that even if I’m not getting any prose written, I’m getting a crap-ton of code written.
I shouldn’t be writing very much code at all, in my position, but needs must so I dusted off some old tricks and am coding like a wild thing.
It’s creative. It’s engaging and it’s billable. Huzzah!
That’s all for the first Hump Day of Summer. I hope you’re keeping cool and well ahead of your to-do list.
