Paperwork Season

Well, I haven’t gotten this much mail in who knows when…

Death & Taxes

So, now that I’m all better (for official purposes, anyway) I’m getting bombarded with paperwork to close out the Workers’ Comp case.

Jeez, what a flurry of nonsense. Less than a second to fall in a slick tiled entryway, more than a month to actually get things up and running and now it’s going to take a forest of printer paper to get it closed out. I’ll be glad when it’s done.

As for the taxes, the W2s are rolling in almost as plentifully as the WC paperwork. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a bit for it ALL to come in.

It never fails. Just when you think everything has come, you log in and start processing your taxes and then some extraneous thing comes in and jumbles up the works. Total PITA.

My wife likes to rush me to get it done and over with, but she doesn’t seem to appreciate that the dawdlers just love waiting a week or so to screw up my returns. She’ll just have to be patient.

Love And Other Things

Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age. ~Jeanne Moreau

She may be impatient, but she is cute.

Kelly’s youthful impatience is usually curbed by the fact that she keeps herself busy with a zillion different things.

She naturally has ants in her pants, so actually getting her to sit still and veg out on the couch with me is a bit of a miracle when we can manage it.

Like I said in the last few posts, she has agreed to do yoga with me to help with my recovery and to help me build up some energy to keep up with the White Tornado of Schuylkill County.

It’s more in my nature to simply sit and enjoy her feminine splendor. 💕 I guess it’s true that opposites attract.

Pencil To Paper

We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible. ~Vince Lombardi

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for me to get my stories done and published but it’s not all that easy getting them headed in a coherent direction.

The characters are doing their thing and revealing some of their personality traits and personal backgrounds, but I still don’t have a specific adversary or useful plot line to run with.

As such, I just keep laying graphite on paper and waiting for inspiration. I’ll latch onto something soon. I have to, I’m running out of notebooks…

That’s it for this weekend. I hope the storm continues to threaten but not actually arrive.
