Rainy Autumn Beauty

It’s been well over a year and, yes, it still hurts. What more can I say? It just hurts.

Even so, I have been up to things of late. I mentioned Ken’s software in my previous post. I was able to use that to not only post an original word puzzle book in the Large Print format that Ken provides through the program but I was also able to take the same book and create a 6″x9″ version through some processes that I’ll be compiling as a bonus for people who buy into Ken’s service through my link.

I was up last night working on a pair of Sudoku books (again, in the default Large Print format and the modified 6″x9″ version) that I was able to submit for review first thing this morning.

That’s absolutely incredible. Being able to create two 250 page puzzle books overnight with fairly complex cover designs is no mean feat, but it’s a lot easier with Ken’s program whipping up the Sudoku pages for me.

If you’re not familiar with Sudoku, it’s a kind of math puzzle where you have to put numbers 1 through 9 in the empty boxes on the grid provided so that they add up correctly in each direction. It’s not something I’d have the slightest idea of how to put together myself but fortunately, I was able to whip up 9 sets of twenty puzzles each in increasing difficulty and compile them into a puzzle book to put up for sale.

The real challenge was trying to figure out how to make Sudoku have a Christmas theme. To that end, I put coloring pages on the section dividers. That’s the best I could do while still getting the books cranked out in record time. I’ve got to say, I really burned the midnight oil to get that sorted out. 2 books in one night with coloring pages and complex cover designs. They’re in review now and I anticipate them being approved sometime tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Ken’s got a new program coming out on the 22nd. I’ll tell you more about that after I’ve had a chance to poke around and get a feeling for what he’s got cooking. Knowing Ken, it’s going to be excellent.

That’s been my short term project of late. Of course, I still have to get my next post done on Pioneer Skill Set. I have to get back to the Sentinels who are patiently waiting to unleash some bare-knuckle justice on the Conclave. Bryce and Veronica are still waiting on the Adirondack Train to get their holiday romance going. Nerdlightenment is waiting its turn patiently as deadlines come and go. So much to do…

I happen to be blessed to live in an area of the country that enjoys a particularly resplendent display of Autumn colors. New England claims the crown on seasonal colors but Pennsylvania is no slouch in that department. Our forested hills and mountains turn a glorious pastiche of the celebrated displays of New England.

You might want to mute the music, it’s a bit annoying.

In spite of the horrendous drum loop, you can see that our colorful landscape is a dynamic work of art, year upon year. The world around me is a constant reminder of God’s goodness. It’s one of the many reasons I look forward to Autumn so fervently each year. Everything about Autumn reflects God’s artistry and subtle work in our lives. The colors, the weather, the flavors, the long dark nights, all of these things are a constant blessing to me and I am humbly grateful.

I could really use a nap, but there’s still plenty left to do today. Hope your week is productive, too.
