Slump Day 2022
I ain’t feelin’ it. Too much to do and no freakin’ time to do it. Blech…
🇺🇸We Are ⛔NOT⛔ A Democracy🏴
The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter. ~Winston Churchill
We are a Constitutional Republic. That is all, thank you.
All this talk about our democracy being at risk is spurious because we are not a democracy, nor do we need to be.
The Midterms were a preposterous fizzle and it might have had some of the Corruptocrats biting their nails, but it’s not going to change anything substantially.
Brandon’s senile incompetence will continue to drive us into the ground until something seriously gives.
That was a pretty 💩 thing to wake up to, but the day got even worse.
Any time I’ve got a plan of what I intend to work on, it’s basically guaranteed not to happen. I’m about sick of it.
I’m not really moving the ball down the field and it’s frustrating beyond belief.
I’m in a slump and I can’t wait to go back to bed.

Wednesday Morning Jazz: Relax with Sophisticated November Jazz & Sweet Bossa Nova for a Good Mood
No amount of happy jazz will fix my mood today. Sometimes, you just need to feel your feelings.
Now would be a great time to have some kind of show to obsess about and geek out over, but I had literally no time for it.
Work from dawn to dusk and still don’t get a darned thing done.
Nah, fam. No amount of happy jazz can mend that situation.
👷🏼♂️Deconstruction🚧
A reversal is just anything that’s a surprise. It’s a way of keeping the audience interested. ~Tony Gilroy
To make matters worse, I had to delete about 3000 words from Merry 🔔 Bells.
The story needs something more than was flowing from my addled brain this weekend. Characters were alright, but it was just more of the same over and over again.
As I said previously, stories need dramatic tension. They need things to interfere with their goals.
Meredith and Toby are experiencing some friction from their internal struggles in the face of an unfamiliar situation, but that’s not enough to drive an interesting story.
There need to be more obstacles for them to overcome, but I’m coming up blank.
I’ve still got time to get this thing wrapped up since I’ll be enjoying even more PTO than my typical No Monday Policy next week.
There are plenty of activities scheduled, but I think there’s enough downtime to get some serious writing done.
One can certainly hope…
It’s a wonder I even found time to get this done today. I hope your week is going better than mine.
