Exit August 2022

One step closer to the end of 🌞SummerπŸ”₯. This week has been less arduous. Hopefully, saying that won’t jinx it.

What We Enjoy

Not what we have
But what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance.

Fortunately, πŸ‚ what I enjoy πŸ‚ is coming in a few more weeks.

In the meantime, I get to enjoy my AC while I finish up Phase 1 of this pesky project.

I also get to enjoy my silly little doggy when she decides to come snuggle up next to me.

I get to enjoy when Kelly comes home from work. She’s so ridiculously sexy.

I get to enjoy my big, soft bed every night whether Kelly shares the covers with me or not.

I even get to enjoy lots of entertaining movies and programs in my off-hours.

SHE-HULK Ep 2 Breakdown: Every Easter Egg and Marvel Reference + WOLVERINE Cameo Explained

It’s nice to see low-level superhero hijinks in this series.

I’m sure they’ll wind up to the next epic-level conflict in the MCU, but I’m fan of basic, street-level comic book action.

What little fighting there has been was limited to the training montage with Bruce and a quick scuffle with Titania.

While She-Hulk has served as muscle for the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, she’s more sociable and inclined to solve things with talking.

As she keeps saying, “lawyer show”. The intent is that this is supposed to be more in the style of Perry Mason, Matlock or Boston Legal.

Even so, it’s still an MCU series and she’s a superhero. It’s interesting to see how they’ll split the difference.

Still Thinking

Thinking: the talking of the soul with itself. ~Plato

I have been listening to my rewrite to get my head back into the story.

I did some plotting exercises.

I’ve been spending some time deliberately not thinking about it, hoping to have a shower epiphany.

It’s kind of working.

I got my August Christmas All The Time post done in the St. πŸŽ…πŸΎ Nick of time.

Despite the brain-drain that comes of spending all day dealing with complex computer stuff, I actually found the time and energy to get that done.

I have an idea for September, but I’m still not convinced that’s the topic I want.

As for the story, I’ve been letting it simmer.

I have to identify the primary waypoints and let the necessary stuff fill in.

in truth, I can just write a million word book and I know I shouldn’t.

Adventure books need to press on at a jaunty pace.

None of what I’ve written previously does and that’s not genre-appropriate.

I’ve been watching and rewatching things to help get back into the right frame of mind.

Samaritan was excellent. I really enjoyed it and it was also not an end of life as we know it type of story. It was about some unfinished business with the superhero associated with a specific city. I like how they handled the mystery of what happened between Samaritan and Nemesis. Well worth the watch.

I also watched Furious the other day. This one speaks more to my Tales Of Olde Auringia series, but it was still instructive in how to tell a thrilling story that snaps right along.

Unfortunately, the way my brain works, I won’t be able to write much until I get all of my outstanding tasks knocked out.

That doesn’t mean it has to wait until after the never-ending stream of work projects, but it does have to wait until the September post is done and probably until after I get Phase 1 of the project that’s been deviling me done.

That’s where it stands and I still have time-sensitive things to knock out before I get back to it.

That’s it for today. Still coding and that doesn’t leave me a lot of spare mental energy. Dinner and a nap is the rule after a long day of programming.
