Rose, a tiny silver-and-pewter Yorkie mix, smiles from a mound of ripe red strawberries beneath the whimsical title β€œSweetberry.”

One of the hallmarks of 🌞 Summer πŸ”₯ is the irresistible flavor of πŸ“ strawberries πŸ“ in all of their scrumptious succulence…

The only thing sweeter than a big pile of berries is my adorable little Rose Amelia Tyler Pond Knowlan 🐺.

One of the nice things about warmer weather and longer days is that we can take her out for walks after work and it’s not pitch black out.

Not that it matters that much to me. I prefer nighttime, but Kelly likes to walk Rose while the sun is up.

Either way, Rose is a good walker until she decides it’s time for Kelly to pick her up and carry her like a baby for a while.

How can you say no to that shaggy little baby face? πŸ‘ΌπŸΌ

πŸ“ Erdbeerbowle 🍹

Alcohol-free strawberry punch with birch sap (not just for children)

I remember way back in German classes in junior high school, there was this talk about Erdbeerbowle.

It sounded exotic and European, but there was no actual explanation of what it actually was.

Naturally, you’re wondering (like me), where on earth do I get Birch Sap? On Amazon, of course…

Erdbeerbowle mit Gin

Of course, it wouldn’t be German without the booze, so here are a couple of recipes with that included.

I guess strawberries, mint leaves and birch sap make for a refreshing beverage, but throwing a little extra spirit in it will help you overlook it if that’s not the case.

In any case, I picked up some strawberries at the store yesterday and a gallon of strawberry lemonade. πŸ“πŸ‹ Maybe I’ll make an erdbeerbowle out of that instead.

πŸ’ Taste πŸ“

One must ask children and birds how cherries and strawberries taste. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Or you can dive in and taste them for yourselves. Jeez, Johann…

Since context is everything, I asked my friend, Mr. McChatsky, what Herr Goethe was on about.

It seems he was driving at experiencing things with the uncomplicated, unfiltered joy of a child.

He’s not the only one who appreciates the unfiltered joy and simplified perspective of children.

Some of the best scenes in The Sentinels: Heartstrings are where David Harz is interacting with the children at Lake Me.

Who are they? You’ll have to wait until I get to publish the Sentinels Chronicle to find out…

That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for twinkling fields…
