Unwrap that candy on your pillow because today is National Chocolate Mint Day. It’s a classic combo loved by almost everybody.

🐛 Green Squish Bugs 🍨

The one thing I still love is mint choc chip ice cream – the really fluorescent kind. ~Tana Ramsay

My grandfather remarried when I was in my teens. Martha was a lovely woman.

We used to have Pop Knowlan over for dinner regularly and one of the times Martha was with him, she referred to the mint chocolate chip ice cream as being green squish bug color.

It still brings a smile to our faces when you say “green squish bugs”.

Some treats are such a deliciously garish color that you can’t help giving them comical names like that.

On the other hand, some mint chocolates are completely stealth like the Girl Scout Thin Mints.

Just looks like a chocolate coated little cookie and zoom, mint.

It’s obviously not a complete surprise because it says Thin Mints right on the box.

They are thin. They are minty. They don’t have the “Yo, I’m Minty!” green color, but they’ve got that marvelous chocolate mint experience.

Used to be that you had to stock up during Girl Scout cookie sales, but then the Dollar Stores came out with knock-offs.

Fan-freakin’-tastic. Having Thin Mints on demand is the hallmark of 21st Century ubiquitous marketing.

You can have what you want when you want or at least as fast as Amazon can deliver it.

God Bless Modernity. It’s sweet as chocolate and minty fresh…

Found 🍫 Factory 🏭 Footage

How It’s Made: Chocolate Mints

The Secret Way Andes Mints Are Made REVEALED | Unwrapped | Food Network

Okay, so I couldn’t find factory footage on the creation of gumdrops, but (☝️ as you can see above 👆) there are plenty on mint chocolates.

It’s often interesting to see how all those little bags of goodies are made.

The ingenuity of automating the creation of tasty little candies, cookies, pies and cakes never ceases to amaze me.

I have to do a fair amount of process thinking to do what I do for a living, but it doesn’t hold a candle to this sort of stuff.

Everybody is good at something. If you haven’t found your niche, take a look at these kinds of videos and see if this is something that excites you.

There are factories from coast to coast using these conveyor systems to make all kinds of things and you might be the sort of person who adds the next nifty feature to make these processes even more effective and productive.

🖨️ 3D Printing In Chocolate 🍫

We’re now able to 3D print in 200 different materials, from titanium to rubber, plastic, glass, ceramic, leathers, and even chocolate. ~Peter Diamandis

Food printing is awesome. We’ve had a number of birthday and other celebratory cakes with photos printed on them.

What Peter is talking about is another step beyond. 3D printing is the process of building sculptured objects one thin layer at a time.

If you’ve ever had a drafting class, you’ll remember doing the three-perspective drawings that essentially describe a finished object.

We’d draw the front, the side and the top. If it was different from the top, you’d draw the bottom, too.

That’s essentially what the 3D printer does. If you were to cut that final object that you’d drawn into wafer-thin layered drawings, the 3D printer prints each of those layers in succession until you’ve built the whole structure.

Writing is somewhat like that. You envision a final object and each chapter is one of those wafer-thin layers that stack up to create your final masterpiece.

Creativity is the next best thing to magic. Imagining something that never existed before is cool. Manifesting it so you can share it with others is nothing less than magnificent.

If you can put that together in the way you’ve envisioned it, that’s nothing short of amazing.

If you can’t put it together the way you pictured it, it simply means you need more practice so it can eventually become amazing.
