A Very Taxing Weekend
Yeah, yeah, yeah, guess what I get to do this weekend… 🕵️🖩 At least there’s a silver lining to it.

So, in addition to the taxes, I’ve got a bunch of work stuff to do and whatever else I can squeeze in between taking eye drops every 2 hours.
Frankly, I’m more tired than I am busy. It’s getting to be a bit much.
Stuff that ought to be done already is still looming behind a bunch of other stuff I still haven’t dealt with.
I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed and I could use a good night’s sleep.
And a hot, soaky bath…
And a sugar-free Shamrock Shake…
And, and, and…
Guess we’ll see what comes my way.

The Justice League Arrive to Help Peacemaker | S1E8 | HD Clip
Well, Season 1 of Peacemaker is done and I really enjoyed it.
You have to be in the right frame of mind for it, though.
I don’t mind the pointless swearing, the gratuitous nudity, the farcical plot elements or the childish humor.
That’s actually a bit of a draw for me.
Even though the premise was presented as an alien invasion that threatens the world, they managed to keep it local, tactical and personal. That’s a winner for me.
Next?
Connor is recommending Reacher to me. Based on things I’ve seen Alan Ritchson in before, and Connor’s praise of the series, I know it’s going to be good.
I’m also finishing up The Wire quickly because it is so addictively binge-worthy. I’m a couple episodes into Season 4 of 5.
Won’t be much longer before I have to find a new show to watch obsessively.

So, why am I binging instead of writing?
Because my imagination is completely exhausted by the demands of my day job.
My canvas is stripped bare and my paint cans are sealed tight.
There’s nothing brewing on the story front.
All I can do is drink in, observe, evaluate and let it simmer.
All active intellect is primarily devoted to catching up on all the stuff that landed on me since the first week of January.
That’s fine. I needed some time to observe the good work of others to help me improve my own.
Unfortunately, I’m not in a position to catch up on reading just yet.
Eye drops every two hours seems to make it really hard to focus on text, which makes me tired, which makes me fall behind at work, which makes me stressed, which makes me unable to focus or catch up.
Did I say I need a nice hot, soaky bath? Yeah…
