Last Saturday Of The Decade

I’m enjoying this weekend in holiday style!

Doing

I binged all 4 seasons of The Expanse. It’s rather well done. Can’t wait for Season 5.

Connor let me read the graphic novels he got for Christmas. They’re also quite well done. What If is a powerful drive for storytelling. The DC graphic novel centers around the question of “What if Jon and Martha Kent hadn’t found Kal El?” and the Marvel graphic novel is based on the idea of Peter Parker actually aging in real time rather than arbitrarily staying twenty-something indefinitely for decades on end. Both are excellent explorations of their respective What Ifs.

I found a bunch of Christmas specials and movies on YouTube. I’ll be working my way through them as time allows. Despite the season, Kelly seems hesitant to watch them. Bah humbug!

I’ve got a few tasks to attend to before the old year fades away. Talk about a time crunch…

Twelve

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

No matter what the marketing wonks would have you believe, today is the Fourth Day of Christmas. The Twelve Days of Christmas are the 12 days from Christmas Day to Epiphany, not the last twelve shopping days before Christmas.

I’m hoping that as the Swamp gets drained in the coming years, we’ll enjoy a return to something passing for common sense and reality.

Possible

Faith makes all things possible… love makes all things easy. ~Dwight L. Moody

We’re in the midst of what seems to be an insurmountable crisis but as the quote above reminds us, faith is required to get through our adversity. Since it is our adversity, love makes it easier to endure. We will get through this one way or another.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~Isaiah 41:10

No more weekends in the Teens. This is the very last one, so I hope you’re making the best of it!
